We enjoyed great hospitality at this hotel. It felt very luxurious, with an amazing kitchen, dining area and best of all - delightful tea time. The location is amazing, walking distance to the Kensington park, train station, Victoria and Albert Museum among some of the landmarks. This is definitely our new stop in London!

London 3 nights at Kensington

I traveled with my 13 year old son Great location from which to explore London Natural History Museum, Kensington Palace & Gardens and Harrods all within walking distance. The Hotel staff are exceptional. The rooms are small even with booking an upgraded superior room, I used the lobby space frequently and it was lovely.

Lobby is beautiful, but that's where it stops

Pros: Beautiful lobby and restaurant decor. Real working fireplace in the lounge area. Beautiful Christmas tree!
Cons: The room decor needs a big makeover to bring it up to 2018 standards.
Location: South Kensington is an amazing neighborhood with great boutiques and restaurants. Near museums and Kensington Palace. Lovely!!
I am so so disappointed that this hotel turned out to be a bust. The outside, lobby and restaurant area are all so beautiful that I moved away from my regular go to hotel in London (The Ampersand just around the corner) and tried this for a change. I arrived at 9:30 am after a redeye on which I had food poisoning so I was off to a bad start from the get go. They couldn't arrange a room for me until about 11:30 am so I wanted to excruciating hours in their tea room being served by a waitress who at best could be described as disinterested. When I got to the room I was impressed by the enormous square footage, but....the decor of the room was very dated. Old carpet, old furniture, dated looking velour type bedspread and a TV with a wire hanging down from it. The decor was definitely 3 star. This was all made worse by the fact that the heat did not work in the room and it never warmed up in two days. Thankfully the old dated bedspread was heavy so I was able to hide in bed when I slept. The hotel manager was kind enough to comp my room service to make up the lack of heat to me, but overall I just can't recommend this property to anyone hoping for a touch of luxury.

picture perfect upscale London

Pros: The list goes on .. the staff was friendly and the service was perfect .. It was small yet big enough to have a bar and dining.
Cons: no
Location: there were many places to eat near by .. the Tube ( underground transit) was in walking distance museums and shopping was also in walking distance
we arrived at 7:30 am .. to find a room ready and waiting ! we had called and requested an early check in .. which was 11 am .. never thinking that we would be lucky enough to be able to check in at 7:30 am .. and we were ! We dined on a fabulous breakfast and headed to nap!.. Our room was beautiful and spacious. A four poster bed and luxurious linens . Terry Cloths Robes and a wonderful shower head ... everything you need after a long flight . the hotel is in a great local and the neighborhood is just stunning .. The hotel has high tea and a lovely bar for cocktails and a living room area with fireplaces perfect for an after dinner glass of wine. . I can't wait to return .

Best hotel in London!

The Kensington neighborhood is such a great spot to stay in. It's got character, great restaurants but still central to all of the sites. The Kensington Hotel is right down the street from the tube. It was just a short walk away. The hotel itself was nice and clean with great staff. We were so comfortable in our room we rested up a bit before our journey home. I wish we had scheduled more time to stay at this hotel. When we come back to London I want to stay here again.
