Noisy, vintage hotel, but has a nice location

Pros: Location / Location / Location
Cons: The owners should come state side and look at a new holiday inn express or similar hotel and then upgrade. A new bed would be nice to start
Location: just a few blocks from the Vatican, takes about 5 min walk. Not far from the other major Rome sites.
If you like vintage 1960's hotels 40years later you will like this. The bed was old and in the middle it was about 3inches deeper than the sides. It is located on a busy and very noisy street that does not quiet down to about 2am, some noise reducing windows would be good. They have "free" Wi-Fi but it didn't connect to the internet for 2 of 3 days, not much point. The advertised (and paid) full price on Travelocity did not include a city tax amounting to an additional 18% at time of check out. Also the lighting in the room was very poor. It's a nice location, the staff was friendly and good, the hotel was clean, and they did allow for 4 people in this room. The hotel could be a great place with some upgrades / investment.

Beautiful hotel close to the Vatican

This is an old building but in great shape and clean. It had that antic feeling just like Rome. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. ❤

Great Location - Clean and Friendly

Pros: Location to the Vatican and Metro station. Nice room - clean
Location: Vatican Museum - St. Peters - Tosti Angelo Angelo (good and fast pizza) - L'eccellenza (great dinner) - Calabascio (great dinner)
We stayed 3 nights at the Atlante Garden. It was a good stay from the time we checked in. The desk clerks were good and knowledgeable and gave great recommendations for dinners. We had a room for 4 - one double twin bed (the italian way) and two day beds. Our bed was comfortable but I can't say the boys beds were. The room was nice but a little cramped with the beds made. The bathroom was nice size and the jacuzzi tub was a welcome relief after walking around an entire day. The breakfast was just ok - its food! They tried hard to keep it stocked but there was a bus tour with a lot of people and it was an endless task. There was a bar that was open thru the day - but an espresso was 4Euro!! The location to the Vatican and the Ottaviano Metro Station were quick walking distances.

Great Location - Great people

Pros: Location - location - location! Close to Vatican and Metro stop to get wherever you needed to be in Rome.
Cons: Mattresses
Location: Vatican Museum. Great pizza lunch at Tosti Angelo near the Vatican. Great dinners at L'Eccellenza and Calabascio - both around the corner from hotel
The hotel is situated perfectly for Vatican visits and is close to a Metro stop to get you where you need to go. The staff spoke good English and was able to recommend 2 great restaurants nearby. The room was adequate although the beds somewhat uncomfortable. Especially the pullouts for our teenage sons. The breakfast was just so/so. Nothing special - it filled the need. But the hotel was clean, the staff courteous and our stay delightful.

Disaster stay during our last 24 hours in Italy.

Pros: Location.
Cons: When overbooking you should at least be placed in a hotel comparable to theirs. What is stated on the web is false information to the consumer.
Location: Vatican visits.
We had booked our hotel in March for May 23 (one night stay). It was confirmed $$ in hand. We arrive early afternoon and the hotel clerk said Atlante Gardens over booked as did their sister hotel Atlante Star. The clerk suggested another hotel around the corner (Olympic). We went, checked in and checked right back out! The Olympic Hotel was not acceptable. According to the web (we checked) the room rate which was a third of what we paid in March. The Atlanta Gardens clerk called the Olympic in turn they offered a 50% refund which was unacceptable as was the Olympic's room ccompared to the Atlante Gardens room! After requesting to see the Atlante Gardens manager (who was not available) the clerk located a room at the Atlante Gardens. Actually two rooms due to we were traveling with another couple who also made their reservations in March. In the meantime the clerk at the sister hotel Atlante Star where the terrace restaurant was located was telling a German gentleman and his family the hotels were overbooked. He too made his reservation in March! We proceeded to go to the terrace restaurant for dinner, reservations made in March and they told us due to a private 40th birthday party the restaurant was not serving to the public. We presented both room and dinner reservations. Atlante Gardens came highly recommended from a well seasoned traveler. I felt all of the frustrations endured was unnecessary and unacceptable! Atlante Gardens should have hosted dinner.

Running a bait and switch scam!

Two couples traveling together booked this hotel in March 2015 for a one night stay in May 2015. We showed up at the hotel around 3pm the day of our reservation. The desk clerk said there were no rooms available and that the hotel booked us in a nearby comparable hotel. We insisted this was unacceptable but eventually trudged down to the alternate hotel The Olympic Hotel. Not comparable at all. Checked the rates on Travelocity and they aren't even close in pricing. Turns out that this bait and switch tactic is a common practice between the two Alante Garden sister properties. The free airport shuttle is also bogus - only applies to pick up at the airport one time a day at 3p. After a couple of hours of back and forth the hotel miraculously came up with available rooms.
