"Everything great except for first impression"
Stayed for business at the convention center down the street.  When the car dropped me off from the airport with all my luggage I was excited to get into the hotel and go to sleep after a grueling day of flights.  The driver placed all my luggage on the front curb.  It was a Friday night and many people were walking around dressed up for the evening leaving and entering the hotel, I stood there disheveled with all my luggage waiting for a doorman or a bellman to greet me or at least acknowledge my presence.   There were 2 workers in sight, one I could see inside and another outside that literally walked right past me going back to the building.  Really?  he could have said "Hello, Welcome" or "I'll be with you shortly".  I'm not sure what he was doing, no one else was standing out there coming or going with their luggage.  I finally left my luggage at the curb to go find someone to help me.  I walked up to the main door where the bellman that walked by me was standing and said "excuse me, can I get some help with my luggage?"  He said, "oh, OK", went down and grabbed it and gave me a ticket, that was the extent of our conversation. Once I walked through the doors into the hotel and up the stairs, a man was the top of the stairs on his way out and saw me hauling my carry-on luggage and asked "Can I help you with that, do you have anymore luggage?"  I explained I did and no one was helping me and I had to track someone down to help.  He apologized for that, pointed me in the right direction for the registration desk and said a welcome and enjoy your stay.  The check in was pleasant. I heard the check-in conversation next to me, they were given a room that was just updated. I was hoping I would be given an updated room as well.  Just as good or better, they upgraded me to the Club level floor, not an updated room but great amenities with the lounge and all.  The room was nice but definitely could use an update.  The hotel is elegant and historical.  It is however under renovation so there is some scaffolding on the outside, construction going on and you do see some changes being made in the lobby area.  The Club lounge was very pleasant and it was great to have snacks and beverages available especially since I had no desire to go out and just wanted a quick bite and go to bed. It was also handy to have a concierge in the lounge as well. Comfortable bed and pillows, which was wonderful.  The free wifi included with the room was a plus as well.  Overall the staff were very nice and helpful, I was happy that it was just the initial arrival that was a big disappointment.  I expected more from this Fairmont as I would at any other higher rated hotel.in regards to a greeting upon arrival.  I have stayed at other Fairmont Hotels and have had positive experiences so it was definitely a big disappointment when I was standing there in the evening, curbside waiting for a greeting and help. Just goes to show you how important first impressions are!

"exceeded expectations"
This hotel was a big part of making our trip to Toronto a huge success! The best part of the hotel, when I booked it, was how family oriented it is, from the kid pool with awesome slide, to the teen room. However when we arrived we were all pleasantly surprised by the array of offerings outside of keeping the kiddos happy. The food and selection was wonderful and priced so I didn’t feel like we were paying more just for the convenience of eating at the hotel. The gelato was to die for and I applaud any place that has a selection of bulk candy for that late night craving! Even the overnight parking was reasonable, considering the other options not much closer were more for the same number of hours.

My friends and I were in Toronto for the 1st time for Caribana Aug 2-4, 2013. I liked the hotel! It has a great location...close to public transportation, shops, and restaurants. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful as well. The rooms are not that big, but that was not a problem...we were in town for the festival and sites, not to stay in a hotel room. The 3 beds was also a plus!!! My friends and I plan to return next year for Caribana and I would have no problem staying at the Bond Place Hotel!

"Good accommodation near the airpot."
Good accommodation near the Toronto airport.  Odd back-to-back bed arrangement but reasonably roomy.  Didn't like the "pocket" door on the bathroom and the only real dining option is the rather pricey hotel dining room.  Service was good.

"Takeover by omni hotels"
I bought this 2 months prior and hotel taken over by omni hotels,  they could not find reservation, took over 20 minutes to book into hotel,  upgraded room, with one room next to an joint room with a wedding party who were noisy due to celebration,  free Internet became a charge and valet parking doubled in price.  Room was nice but furniture in need of replacement

"Good for the money you pay"
Very friendly personel, clean and close to the airport, but too close to the airport if you need a good sleep.

"Location is everything"
Had to catch an early, early flight and nothing compares with leaving your room and walking straight to the departures counters. Drinks and food were pricey but anything at the airport is... Definitely going to stay there again if I have an early flight out of YYZ.

"Overall, a very pleasant stay -- minus the spotty Internet wi-fi and rather bland breakfast. Four stars (out of five)"
Nice living quarters with modern amenities, including working kitchen, silverware and dishes, microwave and full fridge. Room was clean and spacious, with two recliners, a pull-away couch and desk with chair. A nice dining table complimented the overall decor. The bathroom and sleeping areas were fine, also, with enough space to spread out in. The only major negative was the dodgy Internet service, which was intermittent at best, and at worst . . . well, we won't go there. VERY hard to keep a consistent connection over their "free" wi-fi; not sure how anyone who would need to use it for business could ever get anything done. I highly suggest that the Internet become a paying feature of a guest's stay, if only to ensure that the quality is up-to-par, 'cause "free" ironically enough winds up costing you more, in the end here. A MAJOR drawback to an otherwise fine establishment.
