This hotel is a scam. The place is old, dirty and cockroach infested. Very mouldy and smells horrible. The lift partially and could only take 4 adults at once. It is like a building waiting to be demolished. The management was not transparent on the actual state of the hotel. My advice, this hotel should be shot down for extensive renovation otherwise lives are being put at risk. If I had other options or refund option I would have cancelled. I am now back in Canada and hoping that I don’t come down with a respiratory infection contracted at Summerset. What a shame? The reck an almost perfect vacation. A reputable company like Expedia should disassociate itself from this ghetto hotel. I put my kids at risk having them lodged there.

Reasons to stay here: - The food is freshly prepared and very nice. - The rooftop terrace is nice and has a great view. Reasons not to stay here: - The property is run down and badly maintained, especially common areas. - My room had 2 broken taps, a leaking hole in the bathroom roof, broken curtains and a broken chandelier. - The hotel supplies a kettle and cups in your room but no coffee, tea, sugar, sweetener or milk. - Although the food was really nice, dishes don't always resemble what is on the menu - Fajitas are served without tortillas, cheese and cream - American breakfast is served without fruit, pastries and sausage - many menu items were not available.

Nice hotel that can do better

Hotel is nice and quiet with comfortable rooms. Has some small niggling areas that needs attention and could become a little gem. Should note it has no pool despite what states on Hotels.com.

As it turned out: false advertising

Pros: beautiful rooftop bar with nice view of Abuja
Cons: honesty in advertising
I had planned a chill-out weekend and was attracted by the pool and fitness facilities which are advertised on the Expedia Website. As it turned out, the hotel has neither pool nor fitness center. Moreover, it advertises a separate living room with each room, though again, as it turned out, these were only available in some rooms against a higher price. Having already checked in before I found out about the lack of amenities, I tried via Expedia to cancel the reservation and get a refund. Expedia made the effort to contact the hotel, but the management refused any refund. All very annoying, both on the part of the hotel and the false information appearing on the Expedia website. Otherwise the hotel was okay.
