Beautiful spacious house steps from the water
Publié le 25 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayWe had a wonderful stay at Christine's property. The house was more spacious than expected and fit 17 of us (adults) comfortably. Only steps away from a dock overlooking lake Owasco. Tons of backyard space for lawn games. Driveway had tons of space and was only 10 minutes away from the downtown of Auburn. Christine was wonderful and we hope to come back again!

Semi-lakefront - nice amenities, needs some updating
Publié le 14 mai 2024 sur HomeAwayThe owner was very nice to deal with and was kind enough to let us get into the home a bit early - much appreciated! In addition, she does have some nice things in the house - two coffeemakers, good internet, seating options, tvs, etc. But this house is old and needs repairs/replacements - the beds are not comfortable, the deck is rickety, some of the windows are old and don't close all the way (so bugs get in - mayflies and stink bugs), the dishwasher didn't drain completely and the hot water ran out after less than 3 showers. Also, the downstairs was cold (it was in the 50's and 60's outside and the main floor was around 70). With that being said, if you're looking for a house almost on the water (it has a dock, kayaks, etc.) that will hold a group and you're not looking for 5 star comfort, you might enjoy this house.

No worries! A new hot water heater and dishwasher is installed. The windows referred to usually have a/c units and they are in now and sealed so no bugs. It appears they were not shut all the way.
Yes this house is old - 1950’s ranch style but we try to keep it as updated as possible! The stairs to the deck on the house just got replaced (May ‘24) and the beach stairs and deck were replaced in fall ‘22. The furnace for the house does also heat the basement area but there is a gas fireplace for supplemental heat so not sure what the issue was here. It could have been turned on.

Decent house

The house fits the description but has a few drawbacks included it has a small waterfront (if you want to go in the water, you need water shoes!) that is not immediately adjacent to the property. The yard is great and the owner is great to work with, very flexible and responds quickly! Five stars for the owner. Unfortunately the house is showing its age/ use with many things in poor condition including some of the mattresses and roll out beds and deck stairs. It also was not as clean as we would have preferred with dirt and dust around and under many items when moved.
We had a great weekend and the area is nice to enjoy, but keep in mind that it is a rental property and not in pristine condition. Would consider to stay again, but temper expectations!

Oh no I’m very no sorry to hear about the cleaning. Usually we get feedback that it is immaculate. We have an excellent cleaning girl so I’m very surprised. It is end of summer so it does need a little sprucing but we will definitely address asap! Our property is the lakefront so perhaps what is meant is that the house is on one end of the property and beach at the other. We don’t charge as much as other large group rentals because of this even though we have acreage and most have a tiny lot.
All finger lakes require water shoes due to the small rocks and shells but it is a nice gradual walk out into the water - no drop offs to worry about and crystal clear water.

Publié le 21 août 2023 sur HomeAwayWe were able to have all three families stay together. There were plenty of space for us to be together (and apart if desired), and the large yard was fun for the kids. They went fishing and kayaked at the beach. We had a terrific time.

Large Family Retreat
Publié le 13 août 2023 sur HomeAwayWe had 8 adults and 10 children. Had a great time with plenty of room. The yard between the house and the lake was a playground for the kids. We really enjoyed our stay.

Family vacation
Publié le 28 juill. 2023 sur HomeAwayWe had a great time. The house was clean and neat. The walk to the lake was a little long due to my surgery and my sons illness. But a golf cart fixed that for us. Had plenty af room and was very comfortable.

Wonderful Experience

The proximity to the lake and the large back yard were perfect for daytime activities with kids. Christine was a gracious host and immediately responsive when a couple of small issues arose. We would definitely consider visiting again!
