Charming but noisy
Posted Feb. 23, 2024 on HotelsThe Red Lion Inn is very charming, no question. The restaurant/pub is very good. My main issue is that the rooms are VERY noisy. All of the common areas are pre-war era wood planked flooring, including the staircases. They are beautiful, but they are crazy loud. This is an old place, so there is no sound deadening in the rooms. Bring your ear plugs. Second complaint is that the rooms are ridiculously dark. There was one floor lamp and one wall sconce for my entire room. Forget about doing any work. It is a cute place, and would stay here again, but just be aware.

This was our third or fourth visit. My brother and his wife live a quarter mile away, so it is very convenient for visiting. In spite of the time between visits (and the fact that it is usually only for one night) we are always welcomed by staff who remember us.
