Très bon séjour dans l'ensemble

Très bon séjour dans un très beau château. Restaurant (diner et petit déjeuner) très bon. Belles chambres. Seul points négatifs : il faisait un peu froid et le service est un peu lent.

L’établissement m’a debité 237 euros en plus de la note de la chambre sans m’avertir !!!! Quand je m’en suis rendue compte, j’ai téléphoné et après quelques appels supplémentaires, j’ai enfin réussi à avoir le directeur qui ne savait pas d’où venait ce débit !!!! Le lendemain, j’ai reçu un mail avec une photo d’un trou dans le mur de la chambre où nous avions séjourné. Ils nous accusent de l’avoir fait et décide de nous prélever cette somme ! Bien entendu, nous n’avons rien endommagé, c’est ce que j’ai expliqué au directeur qui doit faire une enquête interne car il est plus que probable que ce soit une femme de ménage qui nous fait endosser la responsabilité. Aucun retour, ils ne répondent plus lorsque nous appelons, je pense qu’ils filtrent nos appels. J’ai demandé un remboursement, et rien ! C’est honteux, comment un établissement peut faire ça et utiliser la carte de crédit d’un client et décider d’une somme. Je leur ai demandé la facture de réparation pour essayer de me faire rembourser par mon assurance et évidemment, pas de facture car ils vont certainement faire réparer par l’homme à tout faire. J’espère que ´Expédia va me rembourser. Je ne conseille a personne d’aller dans cet hôtel. Orlane Berron.

We wanted to love it here, but had a few issues during our stay. We stayed here for the 1st night of our honeymoon after traveling from the US. It took us multiple plane rides & a long drive to reach the castle. We were hoping for a relaxing stay after a stressful day of traveling. The hotel did not tell us there was a wedding that day at the castle. We very much understand that it's a wedding venue, but there's only about three communal rooms & a lobby for all guests to share, so it was very tough not to feel like you were in the way of someone's very special & important day. If you are a non-wedding guest there is not really anywhere to hang out besides your room until dinner at 8pm. We really would have appreciated a heads up about the wedding & would have booked a different day so we wouldn't have felt like we were intruding on someone's very special event. When check-in happened that afternoon, it was also the wedding's cocktail hour & there was a line forming through the lobby with the wedding happening around it. It was a bit chaotic on the hotel's part. The reception music also goes until midnight so you'll hear it from your room, just a FYI. Our other issue was that there was mildew in our shower. Our room itself was lovely & the castle grounds are gorgeous. The staff were also very kind & helpful during our stay. I'd give the staff a 10/10. Just a note to please give travelers a heads up about weddings & to be more organized with non-event guests & event guests.

Great stay, warm and friendly staff, especially Jill. Dinner was amazing as was the breakfast. Bed was super comfy.would stay again👌

Hotel was outstanding. Prices for food were very expensive - £17.95 for breakfast!

Wow! From the time you pull into the parking lot until you check out! Friendly and professional staff, spacious room and the castle is clean, clean, clean throughout! Thank you, Fiona and Michelle in reception, Josh and the hostess for the restaurant, (I didn't get her name), and Giuseppe (?) and Dami (?) at the bar, for giving our first trip to Scotland a wonderful start. We're grateful for Fiona willing to accommodate our daughters last minute plans to join us even though the hotel was fully booked. Our bed was comfortable with clean, warm linens. Great water pressure and plenty of hot water in the shower. Quiet! We barely heard other quests even though the hotel was fully booked. Plenty of parking. Hiking trails on the property to admire the countryside. A small recluse for 2 to 4 people along the wooded edge of the property to enjoy a quiet talk or enjoy a drink. The patio area at the rear of the castle has a fire pit and fountain that adds to the beauty and charm of this estate. We woke up to bagpipes playing at the entrance in the morning. Unsure if that is the castle's morning routine or if it was for the wedding that was taking place that afternoon. Either way, it was a great way to start the day. We didn't have a single flaw in our stay and hope to return some day. They are also dog friendly, so you can take your best friend with you! We highly recommend Melville Castle for an exceptional experience.

Lovely grounds and lovely hotel. Staff were very helpful and situation easily accessible by car as well as convenient for nearby shops
