Charming older hotel
Posted Dec. 29, 2023 on HotelsThis is a very charming older hotel. The staff are excellent. There is a coffee/beverage room available all day and evening without charge. The breakfast was nice and the hours were 7:00 am-10:00am. Great location to the Duomo and the train station. The elevator broke the day we left so we had to carry our bags down the steps-an inconvenience. Comfortable stay.

Location was perfect for explore city. We stay at large room for 4 person and all was good. Size clean and amenities more then enough.

The towel rack could not be turned off so the room was very hot nightly. We spoke to one staffer who said they would look into it & was surprised when we told him it was not handled. The staff was really great & helpful. Property could use a little updating, room was good size by Euro standards. We would revisit for sure.

Pros - The staff were excellent! Very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was great, with plenty of choices. Location was great for seeing a lot of the main sights. Very close to the train station, if you like to make a lot of side trips.
Cons- It's close to the train station, so the area has all of the congestion that comes with it. It's basically overrun with tourists. The room, while large by European standards, was quite outdated and rather cold. I had to have extra space heaters to take out the chill. For the price, I expected a slightly nicer place. So, a 50/50 review, I guess. Not bad, but could have been a bit better.
