Overall enjoyable stay in Battersea

A pleasant one-night stay at this hotel, booked last minute (night before) so it was pricey however we were upgraded to an Art Plus room. Kelvin assisted with our check in - he was very friendly, as were the doormen and Jasion at check out (sorry if I got the spelling wrong). We primarily picked this hotel as it was in close proximation Lister hospital as I was having a procedure, but also they are a dog friendly establishment. The hotel itself is clean and I really liked the art vibe and proximity to Battersea Power Station with shopping and food nearby makes it a great choice if you need to be in the area. The hotel also has quite a few amenities including a rooftop pool, sauna, jacuzzi and gym. Our room was spacious and clean with Kevin Murphy (Australian brand) toiletries. The bedding was comfortable and the area is quiet so ideally for a good night sleep. A couple of minor points for improvement: - We booked our room through hotels.com and on there it stated pets stay free (dogs and cats) however upon check in we were charged £20 which was meant to cover pet amenities like dog bed, bowls, treats and a small donation to Battersea Dogs & Cats shelter, however our room didn't have any of those amenities. At check out I raised this and luckily there was no fuss in refunding it because of the misleading advertising and also for not providing anything for our dog. - The lifts were quite difficult to operate and also in the morning of our departure one was working

I was asked at check in to pay the 'remainder of my balance' even though I had paid in full. I told the man at the desk I shouldn't owe anything and he asked me to show him my bank statement. I found this very strange, would you not just ask for the receipt? Small room, decent bathroom, student style set up in the bedroom - expected more for the price. Definitely clean though. Tozi Grand Cafe (one of the restaurants in the hotel) was terrible, waited so long to be seated despite having booked a table, then waited ages to be served. In the end we got fed up and ended up leaving. Similar experience at breakfast. Overall everything about this experience was quite disappointing. Attitude of the staff in general seems far too lax. Would not really recommed.

Wonderful Hotel

Wonderful centrally located hotel. Clean and comfortable with pleasant helpful staff. Very refreshing to see this . Definitely stay here again.
