We highly recommend Holiday Inn Express Malaga Airport in Malaga, Spain. We planned a single night stay after catching a late flight. The hotel was just a few minutes from the airport, so it was very convenient; but it was the helpful and friendly staff that set it apart. The front desk personnel were great and very welcoming when we arrived, and the breakfast staff were smiling, efficient, and presented a lovely breakfast.

Great place to stay before having to catch a flight, only wish they had a shuttle service to the airport instead of taking a cab for a 5 minute drive.

We checked in at 20.30pm and were given a disabled room without any discussion. We were tired so put up with it, but the wet room bathroom made normal bathroom functions difficult in the morning.

Pleasantly surprised by how wonderful my last night stay was. Checkin terrific, room big and spacious, supper in restaurant (pizza) really good. Morning breakfast staff very kind and a decent buffet.
So what’s the downside,
Yes take a taxi to the airport. Don’t struggle with your luggage. I used www.cheaptransfermalaga.online (Martin) he was amazing. I have no affiliation with this company.
And my room was a bit warm. They don’t turn on AC until the weather starts warming up more. But I just opened the windows and fresh air came in.
My room was very clean. No worries at all.

This hotel is mainly useful for the airport. It was a good basic hotel. The staff were lovely and I really thought the coffee machine available all hours was a really nice touch.

Go to bus stop A (just outside airport exit), 4 euros bus but you have to look out for hol inn express on left (only 3 mins on bus), then get off bus just after that & walk ahead to walk over bridge to get to other side of road, otherwise between 12 & 20 euros in a taxi.
