This is not a brand new hotel but a building with character. Great value for money, a good choice at breakfast, attentive staff. Clean, warm and hospitable and a convient location for before and after events at the pavilions.

Very basic in room facilities. Cleaning staff appear to have little regard for guests.

One night stay. Positives: Room was a good size. Negatives: The 5ft mattress is on a 4ft6 base no idea why; The cold water tap did not work to start with, then produced hot water, after some time this became cold, about 4-5 minutes. Badly fitted curtains Windows dripping with water when curtains pulled The room I had been allocated faced the Pavilions, which also had 2-3foot external protruding walls either side, this caused a wind tunnel effect which almost drowned out the sound of the cars on the main road 5 floors down. Whilst I appreciate older buildings have their natural quirks, you heard other people walking around and I made every effort to pad as quietly around the room as possible. There are signs of covered up damp in the corner, this has been wall papered over. There is also a lack of useable plug sockets.

Beautiful hotel.

We love this hotel we stay there every 8 weeks. It never disappoints. Lovely breakfast.
