Adequate but would not recommend
Posted Feb. 27, 2024 on HotelsPaying an additional 10% to park your car is always a turnoff. The gated parking gives an unfriendly atmosphere and suggests this is a rather poor part of town, despite the park right next door and the close access to Brown University campus. We made the mistake of going to the identically named Hilton Garden Inn just outside of town, 30 minutes away near the airport because GPS took us there (in horrendous traffic) and that was a much nicer place. Should rename one of them to avoid confusion (probably this one, since it's got quite the unfriendly non-Garden atmosphere).

The front desk was very friendly. The breakfast was horrible and not worth $18. The hostess at the restaurant was angry at an earlier customer. She was swearing and complaining about the customer to the other employees. She was doing this in front of us and the other people eating breakfast. Also hate the gated parking lot and the fact that parking is not free.
