This was our first trip to Mexico. We loved the resort. The ocean view room to the front and beautiful gardens to the rear were wonderful. It was so peaceful even though you knew there were many guests. Loved the many restaurants and pool options were fabulous. Our waiter Gilberto at the pool was very hospitable to us. Our massage on the beach was unforgettable too.

The grounds were absolutely beautiful. The buffets were great. We were not able to book a specialty restaurant while we were there. The beach was disappointing compared to other resorts in the area.

First time outside the USA everything was kept clean and everyone was very helpful and friendly willing to help you out if you looked lost.

Facility was nice but too big for my tastes. We stayed in the old El cid marina hotel but could use newly added facilities for two other sisters resorts. Restaurants options were really good. Pool areas were good. Biggest draw back for us was the beach. It was blocked by two rows of sand bags barriers and was practically unusable. We had to go to the neighbor resort just to go into the ocean. Beach is the main reasons for us to come to Mexico, so it was disappointing. Another disappointing thing was that at the check-in they wanted to charge us extra $210 per room just for staying, explaining this is a new policy started in December and I was never informed about it prior to my trip. Obviously it put me in a bad mood right at the beginning of our vacation. Room cleaning was also a problem. They tried to come to clean our room after 9pm every day. Maybe because of the room location. I told them it doesn't work for us since we already in a bed by this time but nothing changed. Also I had to call service desk every day and ask to bring coffee and water in our room. We still tried to enjoy our vacation but we'll not be back to this hotel in a future.

Only cons were lack of ocean access / walkable beach and getting dinner reservations before 9 pm when trying to book upon arrival - everything else was great!

this a trip of a lifetime! The staff there were so courteous and knowledgeable! the management must really treat the staff well because from what i heard from other guests was that the retention rate is high and they always seemed very happy! i would definitely return!

This is our second visit to Marina El Cid. It’s a very welcoming and comfortable resort with all the amenities we need for a great winter break. Of special note, staff members are very warm, pleasant, and quick to respond to needs and requests.
