The smell!!

Ugh, the smell! The horrible smell hit us like a brick wall as soon as we stepped off the elevator into the hallway. There was an employee cleaning the carpet so we thought it would go away but we were there for 3 nights and it didn’t even lessen. And the smell in the room was even worse - like new paint over old mold. You know how sometimes your nose gets used to a smell after a while? Not here! I’d get up in the night and smell it and it would make me nautious. It was so bad - the worst smelling hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. The water pressure in the bathroom was horrible - a little more than a drip out of the sink and not sure I was ever able to get all the shampoo out of my hair. We had numerous issues with the key cards, which deactivated at least once a day. We had to go back down to the front desk at least 4 times because our key cards weren’t working. At check out there was a paper on the desk asking clientele to wait 5-10 minutes for staff to return. The property is a long walk, part of which is a very mentally uncomfortable concrete tunnel that does eventually open up to a beach path. The pathway is supposed to be exclusive to the hotel, but the lock on the gate had been removed. During the day it’s not so much of a problem but at night it was disconcerting. The pool was very small but the water temperature was warm and our kids had a great time in it. No special atmosphere and surrounded by concrete and asphalt but nice that it was heated so well. The smell!

Good for family

Good breakfast, easy access to the beach, smell clean, and friendly staff, and extra point in this season, the pool has warm water. For spring break we paid $10 extra for late check out.

Had a light fixture fall on me and my wife while in the elevator, manager claims they’re not liable for anything that happens in the elevator. Well I guess I’ll be escalating this to TDLR since the hotel apparently doesn’t take responsibility for their own elevators. On the good note Jason the host was the only genuine person there . Every one else seems to hate there time at the hotel giving attitude for no reason.
