For the price we paid, this was one of the best value hotel stays we have had in the UK. Comfortable room, excellent shower, fabulous breakfast and lovely staff. We were very happy with our choice.

Terrible hotel with Terrible politics

Absolutely shocked by this hotel. My husband took a half empty shampoo bottle home and without saying anything they charged my card £51 without permission. It's disgusting. We have stayed every year for 6 years and this is how they treat regular customers. Will never stay again now so for a greedy £51 now you have lost thousands in repeat business from my company and will spread the word to all my clients. Stupid business decisions but hey ho your choice

Thank you for your review and we're truly sorry that, after many happy visits to Tewkesbury Park, you chose to leave such a poor one and pledged not to return. I have followed up on this incident, where you conceded that your husband removed three 300ml bottles of our Natural Spa Factory shampoo, conditioner and body wash during your last visit. Whilst we fully accept it's your prerogative to disagree with our position, the costs are these toiletries mean that we cannot allow them to be taken without charge and this is why we provide clear signage in each bathroom, placed immediately behind the toiletries, to state that they are available for sale at the hotel reception and any removed will be charged at 17 each. We think that this removes any potential misunderstanding or embarrassment relating to these items.Earlier this year, we chose to remove the smaller "take-away" 30ml toiletries from our hotel bathrooms, since it significantly cut down on our plastic usage. This was an environmentally-sensible course of action but the ten-times larger 300ml bottles cannot be single-use for the same and financial reasons. If we were to allow everyone to remove these on each visit, the excess costs would be eye-watering. Therefore far from being a stupid business decision, it helps to keep our prices competitive for all of our guests.
