Rustic getaway near Volcano
Posted Feb. 18, 2024 on HomeAwayGreat location close to Volcano park. Musty smelling room – very damp environment. It was a bit cool and the small heater didn’t really work. There is a dirt driveway and parking area. Enjoyed the delicious muffins and papaya which were provided.

Sweet and eclectic
Posted Feb. 3, 2024 on HomeAwayGood location very close to Volcano Nat'l park, nearby restaurants and cafes. Not a posh resort but we liked that. The host is on-site, very friendly and good communication. Nice little touches like fresh papaya and yogurts in the fridge made us feel welcome. A bit musty smelling when we first got there (this is a rainforest, afterall!) but open the screen door for awhile and it was fine.

Perfect spot to explore HVNP
Posted Jan. 1, 2024 on HomeAwayNational Park enthusiasts…. Stop scrolling and book this place! You are basically in the park for a fraction of the cost.
It’s a perfect base camp to explore Hawaii volcanos.

Quiet Unique Place
Posted Oct. 5, 2023 on HomeAwayWe loved this place. John was very nice and easy to communicate with. The room was small and not really any place for us to put our laptops. We were surrounded by the rainforest literally outside your porch door. He had a few extras that made our stay like home - coffee, local fruits, and yogurt in the mini fridge. The new hot tub was really nice. It was luxurious in the middle of the courtyard of rooms.

Comfortable and colorful studio
Posted Aug. 15, 2023 on HomeAwayThe hospitality of the host in providing fresh fruit, yogurt and drinks was great. The location was perfect to visit the Volcano National Park, the black sand beach of Punalu'u, the Ka'u Coffee Plantation and the many wonderful hikes. We saw the sea turtles, nene, birds and endemic flowers and plants on our hikes. The restaurants in Volcano Village were very close. We had a great time.

Great location for the park.

Value for the money near the park

I wish we could have stayed longer!
