Mucka

Starting to get a bit dated, more for younger people, a lot of stairs for retirees. Location good for walking to the pubs, restaurants and ski lifts.

Whistler Family Vacation

Publié le 4 mai 2024 sur HomeAway
I held off with a review because I've never done a negative one. This location is great but the property is neglected and was a "downer" relative to expectations. I'm a home contractor and I know what it takes to maintain a place in sharp condition. The very first impression was the entry door, which is falling apart and is an "inswing" door that effectively blocks the very small entry landing at the very steep (and possibly code violating) stair. Because of this the whole family had to take off our boots and gear outside first or try one at a time to sit on a step of the stair to be able to put things on a tiny bench (he calls this the "warming" area) inside the door. In spite of its' small size the drying out area could be effective if the wall heater there actually worked. But it's been disabled as one can see since the control above has been removed and a cover plate installed. So our coats, pants, boots, socks, etc. remained wet and cold every day unless we brought them up by the fireplace. (which he warns against) to dry. It would be a cost but pretty easy to just replace the entry door with an outswing door as has been done on other units nearby. There are so many things I could write about but I'll just pick one other to try and keep this shorter. The hot tub was enjoyable after we succeeded in forcing open the sliding door to the deck. This door is also in disrepair and you might be able to open it if you're a linebacker! (I've run out of writing space now)

Great stay, location and communication was also fantastic!

Tyrone was very detailed and helpful with check in and communication. The place was as advertised and some nice separation throughout the home was a nice bonus. Sleeping was on top floor. Main floor for rest and relax and kitchen table for family meals was great!

Dirty & run down - Stay elsewhere

Publié le 12 mars 2024 sur HomeAway
Dirty and run down even by Whistler standards. Bed sheets stained with body fluids and coffee or vomit, dog hairs on bedding, cobwebs on walls, garbage on bathroom floor from previous guests, smell of vomit in the main living space, towel rails hanging off walls, kitchen cabinet door barely attached. Wanted to leave as soon as we arrived and left a day early. It’s Whistler so you expect tired 90’s interiors etc and that is totally fine, but this beyond that and in desperate need of some maintenance etc. Owner not considerate of the many issues or our concerns. Please avoid!

Unfortunately, these guests tried to back out of there booking it seemed, which was not refundable last minute, and they knew that. So instead, they chose to create a story about the condition of the unit in hopes of getting a refund. I even sent my cleaners back, who also confirmed what these people were saying was not true. So I denied their request of course. What’s also unfortunate, is their dishonesty still gets a platform. The guests who arrived same day as these ones checked out left a glowing 5 star review. I’ll let that speak for itself.

Comfortable and convenient

Publié le 16 janv. 2024 sur HomeAway
Our family has enjoyed staying at Tyrone's Glacier's Reach condo several times and this was no exception. The location is perfect for convenient access to all Whistler has to offer. The unit is well maintained and comfortable. The host has great communication and is responsive.

Great location, needs updating

Publié le 29 déc. 2023 sur HomeAway
Location is great, but the place is a little “rough around the edges” to say the least. Lots of kitchen equipment, and hot tub was clean and nice and warm, but the place was cold and drafty, things were literally falling apart, and their was a dangerous electrical socket without a cover that was not ideal with a small infant. Plus the stair gates were broken and it was suggested that we should go and buy some… not ideal. Overall, I would say this place was not worth the money, In need of a serious renovation. Great for a group of people not worried about staying somewhere nice, just looking for somewhere to rest their heads.

If you are travelling with small children then you should have things you need for your small children. We do not provide electrical outlet covers, nor does any hotel. We do not have baby gates, if you know you are renting a townhome with stairs then come prepared with what you need for your small child. How is any of that our fault that you were ill prepared? And yes, if you need a baby gate, then bring one or buy one. We do not advertise having these items nor did you ever inquire beforehand. Thanks for making that our fault and then posting a review about what you didn’t bring for your child.

Lovely home

The house was perfect for our mini trip away. Close to the village, had everything we needed on the property and the hot tub was excellent.
