The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise : a fantastic experience!

Pros: Quiet, location, breakfast and internet on gold floor, service
Whether you travel to the Rockies during the summer or during the winter the Chateau Lake Louise is an option you have to consider. During the winter the Chateau is only 10 minutes to the Lake Louise Ski hill and the starting point of many excursions (snowshoeing, sleigh rides, etc ). There is a shuttle leaving every 20 minutes from the Chateau to the Lake Louise Ski Resort (very convenient, I used it myself). During the summer the Chateau is also the starting point of many excursions and hiking trails, plus the views on Lake Louise and the mountain are just unforgettable. The hotel is grandiose! The lobby and the galleries of the hotel are simply gorgeous! If you can get a room with a lake view, you won’t be disappointed. There is art all over the hotel. Because the Chateau Lake Louise is a historic building not every room are alike (some are larger others are larger). There are many restaurants in the hotel: from a 24H deli to a fine dining restaurant, or from a pub to a Fondue Restaurant, there really is something for everyone. Insider’s tip - If you can afford it I would totally recommend booking to Fairmont Gold; it is a few more dollars but it includes a lot: recently renovated room, private check-in, access to the lounge on 7th floor (free breakfast, appetizers, and honor bar), and free internet. Fairmont Gold is like a Boutique Hotel within the hotel.

One of the most beautiful hotels in the world

Pros: The view of Lake Louise makes this hotel unforgettable.
Cons: It was all great.
Location: Make sure to visit Morraine Lake, Emerald Lake, and Takakaw falls.
This hotel has a terrific view of Lake Louise. The setting is stupendous and the hotel is gorgeous. Stay here for an experience of a lifetime. Reserve restaurants ahead of time because they book up early.

We had lunch in the lounge and service was very unattenative and there were literally us and another table. The rooms have no air and the windows open barely and a tiny fan was provided. I saw blankets at the outside restaurant, so I asked the concierge for one to take outside that night. She didn't have one, and I had to go back up to my room and wait over 20 minutes to get one. This wasn't what I expected from a premier hotel.

Had to be one of the nicest most beautiful places.

Not only is the scenery jaw droppingly spectacular, but the hotel is equally fabulous! Our room overlooked Lake Louise, and was spotless and comfortable. The staff was always cheerful and available. I can not give Chateau Lake Louise a high enough mark!

Never stay again!

I was planning on staying for 5 days, I lasted 16 hours. Never again. Same standards as the Fairmont in Jasper. They charge for parking where there is very little spots. Beautiful grounds, old building and old room. That's understandable. Toilets are for someone 5ft tall, but thats okay cause the room was clean and dated, but furniture was kept up, and understandable given its more of a boutique hotel. Check in is long, with many people from other countries in line. Staff is like all staff in upper scale hotels. Nice bed. I ordered a chicken fajitas from room service, cause it was really crowded in the restaurants and wait time was long, but it was saturday, understandable. Price on menu in room was 27 dollars. Price on arrival was 47$. With no justification on why by guy who brought it up. Onions were piled high, about 2 lbs of them, with about 6 oz of dry garlic chicken, 3 monster size torts, and black beans and cheese and lettuce. Took one bite, and placed it outside the room, drove to wendys in canmore, spent 10lbs, had the greatest meal of my life, lost my parking space and parked on a bridge near the emergency exit. When I arrived they tell me they upgrade my junior suite, so the room is a suite next to the elevator on the upper floor. No sleep! The loudest elevator shaft all night long! Room on arrival had nice chocalates addressed to some other family welcoming them instead of me, and fridge with leftover subway sandwich was also in the room. Smelled like pastrami

Spectacular Hotel and Location

Location: Beautiful hikes abound. Snowed in which limited activities.
Beautiful scenery and outstanding service and hospitality. Only negative was room size was a little tight. Amenities were fabulous. Snowed in for a day and a half but still loved the view and enjoyed the pool.

Hotel should be updated. Food is fair at best, prices are very $$$ for value. Would suggest mangent take a very close look at the over all value compared to other Fairmont Hotels. On a scale of 1 two 10 I would give the hotel a 5. View was Great.

Slice of Heaven

Fairmount location is outstanding on Lake Louise.  Lakeview room on gold level is perfection.  One of best features of gold level is getting room key from valet upon arrival.  Spa personnel excellent--Meaghan, Stacey, Lisa & Heather but not a five star environment  Female harp player in lobby was very good.
