Lovely people but no heating on and the shower was freezing. When we arrived we were informed there was only cereal and toast for breakfast and not the English as advertised

Ramshackle condition, shouldn’t be listed
This was the worst place we have ever stayed in. This should not be on Hotels.com (it’s our first time using Hotels.com and was very disappointed this was even listed on here). We paid £199 for one night, so was expecting something of a decent standard. It was in terrible condition and vastly overpriced Even if it was a busy weekend in Bath before Christmas, it would have been worth less than £50. From the knocked down pillar at the entry, then the tattered flag hanging down, it looked worse than Fawlty Towers. The rooms were very old, dark and dated with stained walls. The curtains were literally torn and in tatters. The bathroom was old with a weak shower. We had to wait for a system upload before being checked in by a student (who was really helpful and I think embarrassed by the whole situation). The only positive thing about the stay was the breakfast.

Wouldn't stay again if it was free
Dated, wallpaper hanging off the walls, bathroom was disgusting toilet seat stained mould everywhere, leak patches on the ceiling, the shower dribbled out water and took forever for the water to run hot! Check out was terrible no one managing the front desk. All in all the hotel was a disaster.

Comfortable, if a bit shabby in places, but this added to its charm. Easy bus access to Bath city centre. Good freshly cooked breakfast. Will certainly use again when next visiting Bath.

We thought the rooms were lovely, the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The shower was a bit slow and the sink isnt in the bathroom, but it was all fine. The location to Bath was very good, a 30 minute walk, with a bus stop close by.

Being an old property of course has challenges to make it totally clean but they do a great job keeping it up. We liked that it was just on the outskirts of Bath so you didn't have to deal with parking issues (paying for parking at your hotel) and ease to get in and out of the city. The room we stayed in was huge even by US standards. Breakfast was good. Would recommend you give this hotel a try!
