My first bad review ever — We made a reservation through Expedia. We showed up to no one there. No answer on the phone number listed. We contacted Expedia. They could not get in touch with the owners at any number, published or private to Expedia. It took over an hour on the phone with Expedia but they got us another room in another town. Thanks to Expedia we ended up at a much better place. This place is run down looking and old. I would not recommend it.

Perfect place to disconnect! I could hear the river from my room. Lots of riverside picnic tables , several riverside benches, and a bridge crossing the river allowed me to unwind to the sound of flowing water. The indoor pool had toys for the kids and seating areas for the adults. Continental breakfast was included. Management was super nice and very accommodating. They even let me leave my rental car onsite while I went backpacking for three days - Thanks Ben!. I'm sure I'll be back. FYI there is very limited cell service (Verizon only) so be prepared to really disconnect.

This hotel is not in Lyon. It is about 15 miles away in the same postal zip code area. Still it was a very quiet, clean and peaceful. It had a decent breakfast. Most definitely worth the drive. We wished we could have gotten there earlier to enjoy the river. Maybe next time.

Terrible Customer Service
First off, we did not actually get to stay at Riverside Lodge so this review is purely in regards to their (lack of) customer service. I booked a room for a Saturday night so that my husband and I could do a nearby hike on Sunday. About two weeks before our trip something came up and changed our plans. For the next two weeks I called almost every day, multiple times a day trying to change our reservation to the following weekend. No one EVER picked up the phone even during the listed check-in hours. The voicemail box was ALWAYS full so I was unable to leave a message. Because the hotel was non-refundable through hotels.com I could not change my reservation using the hotels.com website. I finally emailed the hotel and they told me I had to make changes with hotels.com. I called hotels.com customer service and they were unable to change anything without authorization from the hotel.. whom they were also unable to reach. I emailed the hotel again, explained the situation, and asked if we could please change our reservation or cancel. No response. The day we were supposed to check in they called me and asked if I was coming. I explained the situation and there was no offer of a refund or to reschedule. So we wasted money on this place and didn't get to stay there. It may be a great place, but don't expect to reach anyone. Ever.

New owners are trying to revive it. $180+ for a room with no A/C, a queen bed and a shower built for a 6 year old(roof of the building minimized available space). Scenery was great. Amenities need work

Amazing Lodge
We stayed here one night just to be close to Lake Isabel so I could take some morning photos. It was a great location and a very amazing place to stay. Wish we could have spent more time there. Even saw a bull moose up close at Long Lake on my hike back to Brainard. The whole area is incredible!
