Lovely bungalow guest house on private estate. Beautiful views, quiet and peaceful setting within the garden of the main house. Amazing views to Souda Bay, the White Mountains, Apokoronas, and the open sea.

The guest house includes 1 double bedroom with air-con, en-suite bathroom with shower, a living room with kitchenette, and a separate WC where the washing machine is placed. There is a spacious pergola-covered terrace including a dining area, a BBQ, a daybed, and a hammock. The bungalow and its terrace is completely private (not visible to the estate’s other residents).

Prices quoted on this listing refer to 2 guests, and can only accomodate in addition a baby.

Access to the bungalow is by a private path leading from the property’s gated entrance. Parking can be outside the property on the side of the neighboring olive grove.

Located on the Akrotiri peninsula of Chania, on the outskirts of the village of Sternes. The lovely beaches of Loutraki and Marathi are only a short drive away, as is the quaint village of Sternes.

Preferred guests are couples wishing to enjoy peace and quiet, respectful of the estate’s owners’ proximity. Maximum occupancy is 2, with the possibility for a cot for child up to the age of 2. Music/noise and conversation generated from the guests or equipment that they are using in and around the bungalow should be kept to a respectable level in consideration of the owners and must be reduced to a minimum after 9 pm.

Location:
The pretty village of Sternes is located south of Chania International Airport (no air traffic above). The village includes 3 places to dine, a gyro/souvlaki café, a tavern, and a Kafenion (local café). There are 2 minimarkets providing basic groceries, fruit and vegetables, a bakery, and a pharmacy.

Approx. 3 km below Sternes are the sandy beaches of Loutraki and Marathi. Both have shallow, crystal-clear waters, are well protected from the northerly winds of July and August, and are favorites among both tourists and locals alike. There are 3 places to eat in Loutraki; a beach café, a grill-taverna, and another lunch tavern. Marathi has a slightly larger selection of restaurants, one of them, Patrelantonis, considered to be one of the best restaurants in Chania. Equally good but with fewer selections on its menu is the beach fish-café of Rokakis. Fishermen in the family assure fresh fish and seafood on a daily basis.

Great place, just right for a week's break, unbelievable views, close to beaches (~5 minutes drive) and restaurants. You do need a car with a bit of oomph, though - up two steepish hills.

Great view, quiet, calm, relaxing place with outstanding support.
Really close to the airport but also to Chania. Very easy to walk the short cut to Sternes for those without a car. Also easy to walk to 2 beaches and explore the countryside around Sternes. The view is very special, taking in the sea and the spectacular white mountains. We enjoyed a relaxing retreat with no TV, radio, computer or phone distractions and felt wonderfully relaxed. There is a vegetable garden just beside the house. Alexandra supplied us with really useful information before our holiday. Elsa was our host at the property upon arrival. The hospitality throughout our stay was outstanding, far more than ever could be expected. By the end of our week we felt like we had been staying with a good friend. This makes it a particularly special place. We would like to thank them both for enhancing our holiday.

Beautiful property, fabulous views.
The owners , Alexandra and Elsa, were very helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We had very detailed information sent to us before we left which made everything very easy,from driving to our accommodation to choosing where to visit , and recommended restaurants. The situation of the garden house was very beautiful, overlooking the sea, and very peaceful. The house itself had everything we needed, and was very clean and comfortable. We had a lovely stay there , and plan to return.

Ein wunderschönes Urlaubsdomizil
Alles hat wunderbar geklappt, Alexandra war sogar an unserem Anreisetag für uns einkaufen, da wir noch kein Auto hatten. Wir konnten jederzeit unsere Fragen stellen oder über Alexandra ein Auto mieten oder auch ein Taxi bestellen. Die Aussicht ist einfach wunderschön, wir haben die Abende auf der Terrasse sehr genossen. Kalathas Beach war unser Lieblingsstrand und auch ein Besuch der Höhle "Lera" lohnt sich, aber man sollte gut zu Fuß sein. Ein Besuch von Chania sollte man vermeiden, wenn Kreuzfahrtschiffe in Port Souda anlegen, da die Stadt dann wahnsinnig voll ist. Ansonsten ist Chania immer ein Besuch wert, toller alter venezianischer Hafen und eine schöne Altstadt. Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Urlaub. Kleines Manko war der laute Gesang der Zikaden und das Überfliegen der Militärflugzeuge. Das sollte man vorher vielleicht wissen. Bei der schönen Unterkunft hat es uns an nichts gefehlt. Einmal die Woche wurde sauber gemacht, frische Bettwäsche und Handtücher, das war sehr angenehm. Wir wünschen Alexandra ganz viele zufriedene und liebe Gäste.
