great views, overpriced experience
We spent 2 nights at the hotel; it's big, modern; has a very nice looking big pool, along with an interior hot tub, and a sauna. Our room was fine - nice bed, nice flat screen tv if that's your thing, the bathroom was fine, the walls were a bit dinged up. Our view was fantastic - we were in the north west corner of the building, one floor below the top, and we had a great scene of the joining of the Parana and Iguazu rivers, and 3 countries to boot. We sat each evening on out balcony watching the evening wind down, drinking some Malbec or Torrontes which we bought in town. Watched a fantastic thunder and lightning storm one evening that lasted for 4 hours!
The hotel's location is both a plus and a minus. It sits about a 25 minute walk from the center of Puerto Iguazu, and there is a limited number of nearby restaurants (the new Boca Mora, an upscale place, is one; further down Costanera is a very local place to go for cheap pizza, empanadas, and wine/beer, and that's it). A cab ride is only AR$10 or so.
The views are the thing with this place, as it is a big personality-less, flavourless place, used by the big tour groups. We ate at the cafe on arrival, decent enough sandwiches but everything overpriced, including our bottle of wine. Breakfasts were expansive, but mostly tilted to the sweet end of the scale, and of only middling quality. Bad coffee. The bar's offerings can be expensive if you want to drink something like a whisky or cognac.
Overall, I don't feel it's a good value, more expensive than similar hotels in other areas of the country (although, as this area is one of the most touristy places, that's probably why).
The staff was fine, not effusive by any means, but helpful in answering question (though not everyone spoke English, so knowing some Spanish helps).

One of the best in Iguazu
Pros:Free breakfast, Free Internet, Quiet
Cons:Nothing close
This hotel is one of the best hotel's in Iguazu. The view at the hotel, at the confluence of the Parana and the Iguazu Rivers was amazing. The breakfast was satisfying. The A/C had no problems. Its only drawback really is that it takes around 25 minutes to walk to the 'town center' where most of the restaurants are - however cabs are cheap enough so I would recommend you just use them. Cabs were readily available always and had dinner recommendations. The bathrooms were spotless. There was a fitness room and spa available.
