My husband and I were needing a simple and affordable place to stay for the evening. After picking one nearby hotel but seeing the less than positive reviews there, we decided on Motel 6.
The area was convenient and check in was quick and easy with our Travelocity reservation. However, the entire building smelled of marijuana. Unfortunately, that is too common in my recent experiences. When we got to our room, it was quite stuffy. We are in the middle of a heatwave so we chalked it up to that and the AC unit must be struggling like every other unit in SE Texas at this time. We were to be out for the night, so we assumed once the sun went down, the AC would be able to catch up. This did not happen. Although it wasn't horribly uncomfortable, it was not cooling at it should.
As I went to get ready for the evening, I found there was only one washcloth provided in the room. Not a huge deal, we decided when we came back to the motel after our evening out, we would just pick up a couple more from the front desk. Later that night when we returned, the young man barely looked up at us as we entered the lobby. He removed his earbuds when I approached the counter, but never said a word. I asked for a couple of extra washcloths and he returned with 3 hand towels. Oh well, we figured we will make this work. Through the whole interaction, he never once spoke a word.
The room was decently clean and decorated. The bed was hard and left more to be desired.

This Hotel was listed as non smoking however the smoke detectors were covered in plastic and the smell of smoke and weed in the hallways was unbearable.

The lobby smelled like someone had just smoked a joint in it. The smoke detector was missing from my room and the wires were dangling from the ceiling. On a floor full of non-smoking rooms you walk out into the hallway and it reeks of people smoking.

I just wanted to check in early I suffer from multiple sclerosis and had a family member just pass. I wanted to rest. Was laughed at and made fun and just treated awful. I try to contact Travelocity. Had no one get back with me till today. I’m really let down
