Okay.....could be very good.
While we had an enjoyable time, there were a number of factors that led us to lower the rating to 3. Things must be made clearer on the web site regarding the bed size and distribution, for instance has bedroom two got a King or a double or singles? They are not as listed which caused us to bring incorrect size sheets. It also is not specified on the site that bed linen is not provided...the only time I have seen this in writing was when Abdel asked me to sign the contract on arrival. The lounge convertible bed is not really up to the job...my daughter could not sleep in it fully extended as the end is very flimsy. My wife was told an ironing board would be provided as on the equipment listing, but one never appeared even after contacting Abdel again. There is also a need for a floor mop. I would not regard the garden as spacious, it is though well cared for and pretty with an excellent new wooden picnic table. It is not particularly private even with the board extensions on top of the fence. The parasol has seen better days and a particularly vicious ‘orage’ one night caused a split in the fabric through violent winds. The kitchenette itself is very good with all necessary modern equipment but needs more decent mugs. The WiFi is....excellent! It is a beautiful island with terrific beaches and so many super fish restaurants. Our children loved the Grand Plage beach near St Trojan. Recommended as a base for the island with the above provisos dealt with. Current site photo needs updating.

Angenehmes und ruhig gelegenes Haus Nähe Chateau
Seit 2005 ist die Oléron "unsere" Sommer-Urlaubs-Insel! Normalerweise bevorzugen wir größere Ferienhäuser im nördlichen Teil mit Garten (Hunde!), doch dieses Jahr waren wir etwas spät dran bzw. die Mietpreise für 2 Wochen + Hunde waren bei den halbwegs passenden Häusern derart in die Höhe geschnellt... so dass wir uns zum ersten Mal für einen Urlaub ohne unsere zwei Hunde entschlossen und dieses Haus dann gefunden hatten. Im Grunde alles ok, so wie beschrieben. Der kleinere Garten reicht dann ohne Vierbeiner auch völlig aus. Das Haus hat ein paar kleinere Schwachstellen die aber nicht hinderlich sind! Das Besteck sollte mal ausgewechselt werden und passende Deckel für die Töpfe fehlen. Aber das sind eher unwichtige Kleinigkeiten. Der Wasserdruck der Duschen ist eher sanft und dezent ;) Der Ort Chateau d'Oléron knappe 3 km entfernt. Der dortige sonntägliche Markt ist wohl der größte auf der Insel (tägliche Märkte in fast allen Orten von ca. 8-13 Uhr) mit sehr vielen Ständen der unterschiedlichsten Food und NonFood Produkten. Sollten wir nochmal im südlichen Teil der Insel ein Haus suchen, dann kommt dieses hier auf jeden Fall in die engere Wahl! Abdel, der Vermieter ist sehr freundlich und bietet gerne seine Hilfe an! Kommunikation verlief reibungslos! Parken vor dem Haus (Sackgasse einer Ferienhaus-Siedlung) war ok. Die Garage ist ein zusätzlicher Abstellraum. Die Einfahrt davor reicht max. für einen Kleinwagen als Parkplatz.

Nous avons été très bien accueilli par Abdel, dans son agréable maison située dans la quartier de la Gaconniere, au Chateau d'Oleron. C'est un hôte jovial, disponible et à l'écoute des vacanciers. Nous avons avant tout apprécié l'emplacement du bien. Non seulement proche du pont d'Oléron (pour le départ c'était très appréciable quand on s'est rendu compte de la file de voiture voulant repartir depuis le nord de l'île!!), proche de sympathiques restaurants, et situé au fond d'une impasse. Au calme, le pied ! Nous avons posé la voiture et ne nous sommes déplacés quasiment qu'à vélo, loués auprès de société locale qui vous les dépose "devant la maison" le jour de l'arrivée, top! Le parking privatif, se fermant avec barrière est assez exigu, on y gare une petite voiture citadine pas plus, mais un garage est accessible pour ranger les vélos et il y a de la place dans la ruelle pour les voitures. La plage de Vert Bois est à moins de 15 minutes à bicyclettes (en y allant "pépère"), quasiment tout le trajet se fait sur la piste cyclable, que demander de plus! Nous avons aussi apprécié le confort de la maison, notamment la literie, l'espace de vie (salon/salle à manger/cuisine américaine) et la terrasse, très bien orientée. La maison est correctement équipée et est fonctionnelle , malgré les souci d'anciens locataires ayant abimés des éléments (plaques à induction notamment), ce sont les aléas des locations. Pensez à bien ramener vos draps et serviettes de bain, le propriétaire le signale dès la réservation, mais il est vrai que sur Abritel on est peu habitué, à avoir des locations de standing qui ne fournissent pas le linge. Donc soyez vigilant sur ce point. La literie est composée d'un lit en 140 (dans la chambre parentale) et de 4 lits de 90 (2 dans chaque chambre d'enfant). Le canapé lit est composé un matelas en 140 également. Petit bémol sur la robinetterie en général, qui n'est pas de très haute qualité et s'entartre vite. Comme certains autres locataires l'ont mentionné, le ménage à notre arrivée aurait mérité - à mon goût - aussi un peu plus de ferveur, mais c'est très subjectif, je sais que je suis plutôt maniaque et certainement trop exigeante sur ce point. En aucun cas cela ne nous a rebuté et ne doit pas non plus vous faire douter de louer cette maison pour vos vacances de rêves sur Oléron! Réservez vite, les yeux fermés! Abdel vous enchantera par sa bonne humeur communicative et son souci de bien faire. Christel & Cie

schöne Unterkunft
Gut gelegen, in ruhiger Straße mit Parkplatz direkt vor dem Haus. Das Haus ist geräumig und gut ausgestattet inkl. einem schönen Außenbereich zum Draußensitzen. Zwei Bäder, zwei Toiletten, große offene Küche, TV, DVD. Wir waren zwei Familien mit 2x 4 Personen und mussten beim Schlafen umorganisieren, da es nicht 12 Betten sind (wie in der Anzeige) sondern 6 Betten + 2 im Wohnzimmer. Der Vermieter spricht etwas Englisch und war in der Kommunikation zurückhaltend, war aber verlässlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Die Zeit war sehr schön und die Unterkunft hat ihren Teil dazu beigetragen.

CASA CONFORTABLE
La casa està bien situada, tranquila y es muy confortable. La limpieza en la cocina, sobretodo cajones , está justita. Faltaría alguna sarten pequeña . Tuvimos la sopresa de que no estan incluidas las sábanas ni las toallas. Tampoco hay opción de alquiler. Camas muy confortables. El jardín està muy correcto y con muebles de jardin bonitos. El jardín de la entrada muy dejado con malas hiervas. SORPRESA, el jacuzzi de la foto de la casa no existe!!! El señor que nos recibió fué muy amable y nos explicó todo con detalle. Recomendable

Très bon séjour au coeur de l'île d'Oléron
La maison est située à proximité du bourg "Le Château", très typique avec sa forteresse et son port animé, mais dans un endroit tout à fait calme. Elle est parfaitement fonctionnelle, avec une cuisine bien équipée (lave vaisselle...), wi-fi et écran plat, larges canapés. Le tout est très propre. Le jardin est très agréable, avec un joli rosier "Ronsard".

Vacances de pâques très agréable
Nous avons loué durant les vacances de Pacques. La maison de plain pied est spacieuse, moderne et très bien équipée. La terrasse et le jardin sont cosy. L'environnement est calme. Le propriétaire est disponible pour toutes questions et a à coeur que les vacances de ses hotes soient reussis. Une très bonne adresses sur l'île. Philippe et ses enfants.

Wunderschöne Urlaubsoase auf der Ile d'Oleron
Sehr sauberes, top modernes und großzügiges Haus in einem ruhigen Teilort von Le Chateau d'Oleron. Super Ausstattung! Besonders hervorzuheben ist der wunderschöne und gepflegte Garten (Grill, mehrere Sitzgelegenheiten und je nach Jahreszeit frisches Obst).

Sehr schönes praktisch eingerichtetes Haus in ruhiger Seitenlage von Le Chateau
Wir fanden hier mit 2 Erwachsenen und 3 Kindern ein sehr schönes Haus mit viel Platz vor und wurden von der Erwartung nach den Fotos in der App nicht enttäuscht. Einzig die Sitzgelegenheiten im Garten sind anders/nicht ganz so gemütlich wie auf den Bildern (Vor allem dieses große schwarze Sitzkissen ist nicht vorhanden). Trotzdem haben wir uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus bietet alles, was wir brauchen. Vor allem 2 Duschen und 2 Toiletten. Der Vermieter Herr Soufi ist sehr herzlich und freundlich. Und wir hatten in den 3 Wochen keinerlei Probleme. Das Haus liegt in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße, mit dem Auto ungefähr 7 Minuten vom Marktplatz von Le Chateau entfernt. Es verfügt über ein Schlafzimmer mit einem Doppelbett und eigener Dusche und Waschbecken plus Zugang zum Garten und zwei Schlafzimmern mit zwei Einzelbetten. Es gibt ausreichend Schränke. Hinzukommt ein kleiner Raum mit Toilette, ein geräumiges Badezimmer mit Toilette, zwei Waschbecken und einer sehr schönen Dusche. Dann ein einziger sehr großer Wohnraum mit offener komplett eingerichteter Küche. Durch eine Tür kommt man in eine kleine Garage mit einer Waschmaschine. Neben dem Haus ist ein Stellplatz, den wir für unseren Anhänger genutzt haben. Hinter dem Haus ist ein kleiner schön blühender Garten mit diversen Tischen und Sitzgelegenheiten und einem großen gut schwenkbaren Sonnenschirm.Außerdem gibt es einen sehr schönen Grill. Die Fenster des Hauses haben leider keine Fliegengitter, sind aber alle mit Fensterläden versehen, die vor allem tagsüber dafür sorgen, dass die größte Hitze draußen bleibt. Gut ist auch, dass es im ganzen Haus sehr viele Fenster gibt, so dass man abends nach Abkühlung draußen gut durchlüften kann. Wir empfehlen das Haus 100% weiter und werden es bestimmt wieder buchen. Vielen Dank noch mal an Abdel für die herzliche Aufnahme!
