Newest hotel in Fort de France
We had a wonderful experience. We don't speak French, but there was enough staff who spoke English to help us. Checkin was a breeze. The rooms are modern and cute and we had a great view of the city and mountains from our room, with the ocean on the other side of the building. We forgot an adapter, a hotel worker kindly lent us one for our stay. We didn't get breakfast at the hotel, as there are several places nearby to eat. There is also a grocery store and a laundry close by. All TV channels are in French except CNN so you might want to download some movies before you leave for downtime. We would stay here again.

Perfect for business and getting around
Pros:Brand new, very modern, urban design. Great spaces for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Staff were invariably friendly and helpful.
Location:Walk around historic Fort de France at any time; visit the central market (Grand Marche) early in the day; book dinner at Cave a Vins in the evening
The hotel is located next to the pier and transport hub for buses and the shuttle across the bay to Trois Islets. It doesn't get more convenient than that! All of downtown Fort de France is within walking distance and all other transport is at the doorstep. The sea shuttle is easy and affordable, only 10 mins across the bay to see Trois Islet's marina and shopping district. The French business hours are unlike North America's; finding lunch outside the hotel can be tricky and in the midday hours many shops are closed, so check on opening hours, and be prepared to explore and shop later in the day. Hotel Simon also has very modern meeting/conference rooms so it would be an ideal place to meet business associates or host a meeting.
