Downtown Hotel, great location.

Pros: The hotel was right downtown on rue Shelbrooke right in the middle of all the action and down the street from McGill University. Hotel Staff Excellent
Cons: Nothing that stood out.
Location: Downtown, The Museum of Fine Arts is down the street, beautiful building with Art work in front of most of the building. The plenty of restaurants.
This was a pleasure trip. I've been to Montreal but this was my husband first time. We had a wonderful time. Montreal offers great food, entertainment, shopping and art. We walked and took advantage of the Hop on Hop Off Tour Bus - 2 day tour. I highly recommend this experience. The weather was nice on the cool side. We went in August 2017 - great for walking and sightseeing.

downtown convenience

Hotel was under constuction while we stayed. It was very noisy. They charged an extra fee for parking on top of the room charge. Hotel itself was very nice inside but would never recommend it to a friend

Nice spacious hotel rooms for families

Pros: Hotel staff was so eager to please and friendly it made this a very nice stay!
Cons: Sofa beds were a bit hard and thin. maybe have a nice pad available when these beds are used for long stays.
Location: The location of this hotel was great. Close to downtown, restaurants, pharmacy, and metro. Also, walking distance to Mont Royal Parc.
We chose Hotel Le Cantlie because we have three teens and needed a room that accommodated 5 people. They have suites that have a kitchenette and living space with sofa bed so it affords more room to move around. The room was very clean and the staff very attentive to any requests we had. The sheets and bedding were great quality and hotel restaurant was great. The location of Hotel Le Cantlie was awesome as well, near restaurants, metro and stores. Its not a large chain, so if you are looking for a lot of amenities (No concierge) be warned it's a small private hotel. The front desk staff answered all questions about Montreal that I had and were friendly. Overall, it is an older building, but maintained very well and very clean.

Good hotel near night life

I loved everything about this hotel other than the front desk staff and the bartenders. I checked in and said I might have another couple staying with us .. The couple did not, they got their own room but because I said they might the hotel charged me when I checked out for thinking these people stayed with me when they didn't and the lady wouldn't take the time out of her day to make me happy.. She simply handed me a slip with the charge and said have a nice day and helped the next person.. I will be calling the manager on that. The bartenders couldn't make a simple mojoto .. And the drinks needed a lot more alcohol added into them. Room was very nice and clean, hotel was very close to the night life and great restaurants.

Nice hotel in the heart of downtown Montreal.

Pros: Hotel staff, conditions, cleanliness and location.
Cons: Parking and breakfast should be included. Breakfast is too expensive. The dinner was lacking in flavour: hamburger was raw.
Location: Great location close to great shopping, restaurants and the subway. Easy to to walk to old Montreal.
Almost everything was great. Hotel staff, conditions, cleanliness and location were all perfect. We had dinner one evening in the restaurant but the hamburger was not cooked so had to send it back. Did not know we had to pay for parking until checkout; should have been communicated through Travelocity.

Near McGill

Pros: The location.
Cons: Beds, free internet, free parking, a functioning swimming pool.
Location: It is right in the middle of everything and Old Montreal is an easy Metro ride.
This hotel is OK. It has a convenient location near the Metro, which is a wonderful subway system that makes all of Montreal accessible. The room was quiet, even though we were near the elevator. The beds were decent, but not great. The room was fairly clean, although we have seen better. They have a pool, but as far as we could tell it has been "under renovation" for more than a year. Also, they charge you for internet and parking. All in all an OK experience.

Nice hotel, although dated.

Pros: location
Cons: Inform people better on big items like "the pool is closed"
Location: Crescent street nightlife is 3 blocks away
This hotel is in a great location. It is nice in the summer with the rooftop pool, unfortunately the pool is often closed (2 out of 3 stays), as I found out (after paying $500) this weekend. They told me that travelocity has a notification that the pool was closed, but all they did was remove "pool" from the amenities 9which isn't the same as telling someone who knows they have a pool that its closed). The room was also a bit hot and had no balcony. I have stayed there 3 times, but will probably choose somewhere else, where the outcome isn't a surprise. But that said, if the price is right, I would choose it for the location, and make sure you call two days before and ensure the pool is open, so you have time to cancel and choose somewhere else.

Excellent Location

Pros: Location to downtown attractions
Cons: Let us know pool was closed.
This hotel is close to McGill University and well within walking distance of many of the downtown attractions. Comfortable well kept rooms with plenty of space.
