Great location and everything you need!

Pros: The outdoor pool is slightly heated, so even if the sun is not directly on it, it is still very comfortable for a swim.
Cons: The hot tub area could be updated, and I wish it was open later than 7:30/8:00pm.
Location: Great location to mix with the locals, but also be a tourist. If you can't walk to something, a metro stop is just around the block.
We had a great stay at the Omni hotel in Montreal. Other high end hotels were priced a fair amount more, so we chose the Omni, which I had heard was a good chain. At first I thought the location on Rue Sherbrooke near Mont Royal would be too far from downtown, but actually it was perfect for walking to Rue Sainte-Catherine (2 blocks away) which is a bustling street with great shopping, restaurants, and people watching. Also, the walk to several museums is very quick- the excellent Fine Art Museum is less than a 10 minute walk away, and near Rue Crescent which has restaurants and bars. Now I realize too that it was much more desirable to be further from old town, as that seems to be the tourist hub, and rather be closer to living life like regular Montreal residents. However, it is still fun to be a tourist, and in that case going to the hotel bar, Alice Bar, is a great experience on your way to or from your room. The bartenders are very friendly and offer great recommendations. There was a lot of construction around on Rue Sherbrooke, so when checking in we asked for a higher floor to be away from the noise (which actually was not bad, but I thought it might be loud). They gave us a room on the top (31st) floor and it was fantastic! Besides this great accommodation, the staff was also very helpful with advice about nightlife, directions, etc. as well as excellent with room service any time of day.

Great location, very handsome property

Pros: Location, location, location.
Cons: Care with completing repairs. Bed too soft.
Location: Museum of Fine Arts is practically next door. Great shopping. Wonderful restaurants. Imax movie theatre. Everything is right there.
This hotel is in the heart of downtown activities: museum, movies, shopping, dining. Couldn't be any more convenient for a weekend urban getaway. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are large and well-appointed, except I wished for a coffeemaker. Our room must have been undergoing some repairs that had not be properly cleaned up: some plaster dust on the sink and a light that was out of its fixture hanging down from the ceiling by wires in the bathroom. Bed was squishy--too soft. But we took a room right by the elevator & ice machine so we could check in early, and it was totally quite. In fact, the hotel was pleasantly quiet in general.

Delightful Downtown Destination

Pros: The climate-controlled pool and the breakfast buffet were perfect. Concierge services were extremely knowledgeable and friendly!
Cons: The smell of the room was a bit stuffy upon arrival.
Location: We walked up to Mont-Royal, through the shopping district, to restaurants on Crescent St., to Place de Arts, Old City, and loved bike-sharing.
My husband and I enjoyed a 3 night stay in August. The staff was friendly and helpful, the pool was lovely, our room was clean and comfortable. We loved touring downtown Montreal as well as Old City and everything in between! There were great restaurants nearby and throughout the city and beautiful parks to rest in as well. There were more things to do and see than we could fit in 4 days, so we'll be back (and definitely stay at Hotel Omni)!

Nice location, terrible room

My family and I stayed at the Omni Mont-Royal in order to attend the Montreal Jazz Festival. The hotel is situated in downtown Montreal with easy access to the subway. The concierge was very helpful, and as it was our first time in Montreal, he gave us a pamphlet with a walking tour of the city with the hotel as starting point (highly recommended!). The public spaces are well maintained. The reason I will not give this hotel a better rating is that our room was a so-called "parlor room". I reserved a king room but what we got was a room where the only bed was a pull-out queen size sofa. The sofa bed was dreadful and I don't understand how they can let guests stay in a room without a proper bed! Since the hotel was full we had no other choice, but at first they wanted us to pay extra for a cot for our daughter (I had reserved and paid for a room for 3). After protestations from me, they agreed to include breakfast and internet service for free. The room had a nice bathroom but the windows were filthy, the furniture needed to be updated, and the room looked like it hadn't had an overhaul in 20 years. There are wooden ceiling panels in the room in desperate need of repair. The breakfast is a buffet breakfast and not worth the exorbitant amount of money they ordinarily charge. In all, next time we return to Montreal I will not stay here again.

Pleasant

Pros: Staff and rooms
Cons: Seating at breakfast
Location: Convenient on Sherbrooke West. Across from McGill University Management Faculty and library.
Very friendly staff. Somewhat crowded at breakfast. Online breakfast price is not a savings. Same price as in person. Food is good. Rooms are nice and comfortable. Amenities are good. Staff are very helpful.

Centrally located

Location: Universel on Peel St. - excellent food
Nothing bad to say about this hotel. The staff was very accommodating and helped us Montreal "first timers" get around to where we needed to go. Rooms were spacious and clean.

Great stay at the Hotel Omni Mont-Royal

We really enjoyed our visit to Montreal in late October 2013. This was our third visit and we stayed at the Hotel Omni Mont-Royal each time. It's lovely. Given the great location downtown, we were able to walk everywhere, including Old Montreal. The concierge was very helpful, and had great recommendations for restaurants. Room was very comfortable and immaculate. Will stay there again.

Got a good deal - nice hotel, great location.

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, pleasant/helpful hotel employees
Cons: No free Internet
My friends and I went up to Montreal for a bachelor party. We got four rooms that were all supposed to be the same, but they wound up having slight differences (which was kinda odd). That is the only negative thing I have to say, and I'm a very negative person. That shows how nice of a place it is/good of a deal I got.

Pleasant Experience

Pros: Close restaurants
Everyone at the hotel (and in the city in general) went out of their way to make our experience pleasant. I would definitely return to this hotel next time in Montreal.
