In the city center, Hotel Pennsylvania is in New York's Midtown neighborhood, an area with good airport proximity. Cape Liberty Cruise Port and American Dream Meadowlands are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's popular attractions can visit Central Park Zoo and Chelsea Piers. Looking to enjoy an event or a game? See what's going on at Madison Square Garden or Barclays Center Brooklyn. Our guests appreciate the hotel's location for the nightlife. It's also convenient to public transportation: 34 St. - Penn Station (Fashion Av.) is just steps away and 28 St. Station (7th Av.) is 4 minutes by foot.
My room was given away - obviously my reservation did not mean anything to this Hotel. They even stated that the hotel is overbooked and/or gave away my room to people who decided to stay longer in NYC. To make up for it, they asked me to stay in rooms that have not been updated or cleaned since the early 1900's. Rug was very thin and very stained, bathroom was dirty and deplorable and the bed was a bed frame and board and a FOAM mattress. I walked down immediately to ask for another room and they had nothing and stated that they knew the room was like that. The manager refused to speak to me or come out of her little area. I drove 7 hours to get there only to be left out with no place to stay. It took me 4 1\2 hours to find another hotel because all the hotels were booked in Manhattan d/t the holiday season. Had to stay in the borough of Queens - the only place that was available. From this hotel it took me over 2 hours to get in to the city because of traffic and two hours each time to get back. Wasted a lot of my time. By the way, I tried 3 times prior to my arrival to contact someone to find out more information about the area and no one ever returned my call.
