The u shaped part was weird for me but i have no complaints about the hotel.

This hotel is absolutely disgusting. The elevators wreak of weed. The hallways are dirty and hot because the ac doesn’t work. There was a bug in the bathroom. Hair and makeup on the bed. A gum wrapper on the floor. The tv remote doesn’t work for changing channels, only sound. The balcony cement is cracking every time you walk out onto it. Garbage in the hallway. We ordered a crib and never got it, not that I’d want it anyway after seeing the condition of the place. There were police cars outside when we arrived which seems fitting as it’s in a super sketchy part of town.

Our room had been reserved for over a month before check in. Upon arrival, we were told our room had been given to somebody else and because the hotel was very busy that day the front desk was not paying attention to reservations but handing out rooms. We reserved an oceanfront two bed hotel from and they tried to give us a single bed. They gave us the last room available on the first floor, no view of the ocean and the room smelled of mold and mildew. Very, very disappointed and will never stay here again.

Not a good day

Pros: location to beach
Cons: proper maintenance on elevators; check thoroughly for cleanliness of rooms
Elevator went out 2 days so had to walk up and down from 5th floor; wi-fi went out 3 days; everything in room was damp down to the rug on floor--with humidifier in hallway so wet clothes did not dry resulting in mildew smell; food left in windowsill; smoke detector went off at 2:00 am for 10 minutes in room so called front desk for help. Surprised to not find washer and dryer. Lights in hallway on 2nd floor went out -- hallway totally black

Hotel right on the Beach

Pros: The staff and location on the beach.
Cons: The hotel can use some modernization.
Location: Located right on Virginia Beach and the boardwalk. Walking distance to many choices for food, gifts, etc.
My first impression was positive as the clerk checking me in was very pleasant and helpful. The hotel is older and typical of a resort area accommodation. Every staff person I saw was very friendly. The complimentary breakfast exceeded my expectations.

Disappointed

Pros: It was across the beach, but that was all.
Cons: Better cleaning service, specially in the bathrooms.
I expected it to be better for the price I was charged. The pool wasn't clean, the beds were not very comfortable and the bathtub wasn't clean. It looks like the maintenance on the rooms are just superficial. I love the fact that they were across the beach but that was all. The staff and service weren't great either. I won't stay here again.

Off-season = Out of service

Pros: Tough to find an upside about this hotel experience other than the beach itself.
Cons: Things to improve? I don't have any degrees in hotel and restaurant management, but I would start with a functioning heater and AC in each room.
Location: Once again, the beach is the star of the show.
Our room did not have a functioning air conditioner, and a repairman entered our room without knocking using a key. Staff offered a new room, but could not guarantee that the air conditioner would work in that room, either. At least the beach is pleasant!

Good for the Price

For the price, this hotel is in a great location, has a nice continental breakfast, the staff were pleasant, and the waters hot. On the downside, the hotel needs major renovations. The elevator during all three days of my stay smelled of urine and had broken bulbs that were hanging. The actual room we stayed in had dust coming out of the air vent causing the ceiling around the vent to be black from dust build up. Also the iron in my room did not work.

It was OK, nothing special about it. I wouldn't stay there again. I rather spend little more money but get a better place. My husband got emergency at work, we asked to see if we can cancel for second night so he could get back to work but they said they can't do it. We asked if we can postpone a second night and we will take again in few weeks but they said no as well. Second issue with have, We went to bed around 11 but people still slam their door and talk loudly till 2am. We wish the place would have staff to monitor this type of situation. Then the day we check out, we check out at 8am and there are no more hotel luggage cart. We waited 30 minutes and the staff didn't even care to look for one. We ended up to carry everything by ourselves. Add to that the parking for the car is at cross of the street instead right at the hotel itself. Thanks god the time we went wasn't rain, otherwise it would be a nightmare.
