DolphinBay beachfront bungalow directly on the platinum WestCoast, 2Beds, 2Baths

A 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom beach bungalow sitting directly on meandering Paynes Bay, st James, part of the internationally acclaimed West Coast of Barbados, famed as the Platinum Coast. Both bedrooms have air conditioning. One bathroom is en-suite. It’s tastefully decorated and fully equipped in terms of appliances, cookware and electronics, including a Bang and Olufsen media centre and snorkelling equipment stored under the daybed. The property is surrounded by greenery. You will want for nothing in terms of comfort and amenities, all good, it gets better as the unique attraction of the Dolphin Bay Villa is it’s location.

Guests simply step off the property’s private terrace, out of the garden gate and onto the beach, where they can immediately hit the shore or dip into the breath-taking, warm Caribbean sea. The beach offers plenty of opportunity to lie back tan, read or nap or you can do the same on a beautiful daybed nook on the property’s private balcony. The water directly opposite is a gathering spot for hawksbill and greenback turtles, on most days you don’t have to swim out far to see and even bathe among them, if you care, or sit on the terrace watching the traffic of yachts, snorkelers and the like attracted by these wonderful wild, yet accommodating, creatures of nature. If your preference is for a more athletic or even adrenalised activity there is an abundance of water sports available for rent, including Hobie Cats, jet skis, paddle boards, and glass bottom boats all also a shells throw from the property’s beachside gate. Just ask one of the helpful beach vendors for help.

Alternatively, if you choose, wander along curving white sands, form the villa you can easily reach by foot some of the finest and most exclusive offerings in the Caribbean, such as the Caribbean outpost of Chelsea’s Daphne restaurant and The Cliff Beach club and restaurant, to the south, Sandy lane and Holetown to the north. Depending on the tide you can walk for miles. Each walk is unique depending in the time of day and surf. On an early morning stroll before those not so fortunate to have the beach right at their gate arrive parts of the deserted scenery are even more breathtaking. As you pass the exclusive hotels you may come across an early bird yoga session. it’s ideal here for swimming and snorkelling at almost any place and if you pay attention you will get to know which spots are best for surf. More lately a promenade has been added to some sections of the beach around Holetown improving and so extending accessibility and the west coast welcome. However you stroll or jog, beside, swim or even paddleboard in the beautiful tranquil waters of Paynes Bay you will get to understand why the platinum cost of Barbados is world renowned.

Dolphin Bay Beachfront Villa is ideally located, as well as being a brief stroll from world famous admittedly high price restaurants and hotels there are fine budget eateries and even economy rum shops all walking distance or an inexpensive cab ride away, offering varied touristic and local experiences. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday you can enjoy local fish fry across the road from the villa. If you feel for fast food, pizza and the like is available. When you visit our information book sets out more about the area including less touristic not to miss places known to and appreciated by locals and regular victors. We offer an in villa catering service and by advance request when the Beach is quiet onshore dining. Although many guests have remarked that beachside is as good as onshore and course available all the time from the terrace, whether around the outside dining table or lounging on the daybed as the property boundary is the high water mark. For full self service and supplies you will find fully stocked supermarkets, mini-marts and a 24 hour convenience-mart in nearby historic Holetown which lies a short walking distance, or a quick five minutes drive or a few bus stops north along the West Coast road. At the back of the villa is an off road private gated parking space, however the bus service is cheap and mostly regular through Paynes Bay providing another convenient even some have commented a fun option, to get feeling like a local. Taxi services can be arranged on request.

In Holetown you will find banking, ATM’s, shopping, duty-free facilities, and restaurants both affordable and upscale, depending on your mood, tastes and wallet. At the super upscale Limegrove browse or buy clothing/ jewellery and souvenirs from international brands such as Ralph Lauren, Cartier and other purveyors of fine watches, jewellery and fashion, here lunch at Relish is a must as is checking out the, to our mind equally exclusive high quality local crafts and fashions in the Chattel Village. can be found at Limegrove A delicious breakfast, can be had there.

On the practical side you can just go for groceries at Massey’s, one of the biggest most inclusive stores in Barbados. A fairly large selection of wine is available at Massey’s but a better selection is available at Wine World.

Heading south on the roadside you pass the gas station, then the Paynes Bay Methodist Church and Paynes Bay Pentecostal Church, opposite which is the Paynes Bay fish market, supplies will have be caught that day by fisherman coming from generational tradesmen families. Overlooking the beach just after the fish market stands the Cuban monument, perfect for a yet another type of reflection.

The beach is the main west coast attraction however if you are into polo a short walk up the hill inland in no time you reach the The Barbados Polo Club at Holders Hill, st James where cool breezes blow and you can enjoy the sport close up. Entrance fee is a modest 20 bds. If golf is more your game and you want to participate rather than just watch visit one of the international standard golf courses.

For those of you who are new to the west coast area here are some other of the near by properties that would help you to locate us - Tamarind Cove Hotel, Treasure Beach Hotel, Old Trees Apartments , Crystal Cove Hotel, Sandy Cove Hotel, Daphne's Restaurant, Sandy Lane to the north.

Being on the West Coast also leaves you near incredible attractions like The Harrison Caves, Hunte’s Garden, Welchman Gully, Earthworks and others.

Should you bear to take an excursion fr the pristine West Coast, beyond Holetown the road and indeed the bus service passing behind the villa links to Speightstown and to Bridgetown and Oistins, on the south coast.

All in all, you can experience as much or as little of all aspects of Barbados life as you wish by renting The Dolphin Bay beachfront Villa. Franklyn, Shamara and their uncle next door are perfect helpful hosts.

Location Location Location!
When staying on a beach in a beautiful bay it is challenging to come up with something negative to say, so I won’t! The king size bed in the master was very comfortable with amazing pillows…loved having the mosquito net since there have been lots of concerns about Dengue on the island. Our timing must have been good, as we only saw a couple while here & I’m usually eaten alive! The beach was just outside our fence, so we used the provided beach chairs & umbrellas several times throughout our stay. On Sunday mornings, the Pentecostal church across the street does a lovely beach side service with singing & music, so we enjoyed it from the patio. I have no hesitation recommending Dolphin Bay!

Beautiful Beach
Very nice property right on Paynes Bay!! The waves and beach was great and their were nice chairs to use. Beds were comfortable and bedrooms had AC. Plenty of cooking utensils. Nice TV especially during March Madness. Only downside was parking. It was extremely tricky to navigate the fencing to get back to the spot. We would definitely stay there again. Good location and easy to catch the local bus.

Clean, quaint property in a great part of the island.
You get all the benefits of the best beaches and restaurants in your own private villa for a fraction of what all your neighbors paid.

Little Slice of Paradise
My husband and I loved our stay in this wonderful villa. Just walk out the gate and you're on the best part of Payne's Bay beach. The location is perfect. Just a half hour walk into Holetown or a short bus ride. The villa itself is very comfortable with everything you need. Including an incredible stereo system if you're a music fan. Thanks Franklyn and Tesha for a great stay! After 22 years of visiting Barbados, we've found our favourite accomodation.

Paynes Bay Paradise
This is the best place we have ever stayed in Barbados which includes about 15 trips and a splurge at The Crane. Dolphin Villa is in the perfect location, directly on a beautiful Paynes Bay beach, walking distance to Sandy Lane & The Cliff, short distance to Holetown & Fitts village, easy bus stop to Speightstown and Bridgetown. Steps to local bars/restaurants on the beach and steetside. The villa feels like your own home away from home. Impeccably clean, well appointed, local artwork, AC in the bedrooms and great breezes in the living areas. The front porch has wonderful views while maintaining your privacy. The beach chairs & toys were new and were everything we needed. The landscape within the walled courtyards is a tropical paradise. We particularly enjoyed our interactions with the local beach guys who made us feel part of their little spot on the beach. Sitting beneath the almond tree in a comfy chair with a cold drink right in front of our house certainly is preferable to being in a high rise or lugging your stuff from across the street. To quote one of the beach guys, we had the best seat in the house. We were so fortunate to meet owner and Barbados native, Franklyn, on of his visits from the UK. He was so welcoming & friendly, with a great sense of humor as was house manager Tesha and chef Andrea. That’s right, you can arrange your own private meal service at the house. It was the best meal we had on the island and in the best setting. Many thanks for sharing this wonderful gem with us. We’ll be back.

Something for Everyone
This property is by far the most tastefully decorated of all the ones I have ever rented in the past. It lacks nothing from the appliances, cookware and electronics. Not only are they top quality, but they all function. (Not always the case elsewhere.) The bedrooms are both equipped with air conditioning and supportive mattresses, (especially important for my back). The beach offers plenty of opportunity to lie back tan, read or nap or you can do the same on a beautiful daybed nook on your own private balcony. For those wanting a more active beach experience there are Hobie Cats, jet skis, paddle boards, and glass bottom boats for rent. Just ask one of the helpful beach vendors for help. You don’t have to swim far out to see turtles. The snorkelling equipment is stored under the daybed. Restaurants from high price to economy rum shops are walking distance or an inexpensive cab ride away. If you are into polo, Holders is just a short walk up the hill, where cool breezes blow and you can enjoy the sport close up. Entrance fee is a modest 20 bds. Being on the west coast also leaves you near incredible attractions like The Harrison Caves, Hunte’s Garden, Welchman Gully, Earthworks and others. This house is also walking distance to Holetown or a quick 5 minute bus or taxi ride. There you have the Chattel Village. A delicious breakfast, can be had there. Also clothing/ jewellery, souvenirs can be bought at various shops or you can just go for groceries at Massey’s, one of the biggest most inclusive stores around. Upscale shopping, ATM’s can be found at Limegrove where lunch at Relish is a most. Wine is available at Massey’s but a better selection is available at Wine World. All in all, you can experience as much or as little of all aspects of Barbados life as you wish by renting The Dolphin Bay Villa. Franklyn, Shamara and their uncle next door are perfect hosts. They could not be more helpful. With gratitude, Kersti
