We are currently staying at the Senator in Puerto plata. Check in was ok. We booked for the luxury rooms and they were not all made equal. I booked 3 reservations. Only 1 room had robes, the other 2 did not have robes and for a luxury room you would think they all should. One of the 3 rooms we booked is still under construction and has compound on the bathroom wall. Some of the rooms were missing trash cans, and holders in the showers for and toiletries you might bring. The telephones also don't work in the rooms. The drinks are horrible. They have 2 tiers of alcohol and the 2 tier isn't even premium. The drinks that are included are Classico and taste like water. The one good thing about the hotel is the beach is nice however beware it has rocks. Towels and chairs are so hard to come by. Both beach towels and regular bath towels. We have only been here one night and when our room got clean we didn't get new towels and they took away our old
Ones. When we tried to call reception, it sent me to a different hotel. Today is our second of third night and the ACs are broken. Not only in the rooms but also in the entire hotel and main buffet. This is not only uncomfortable but dangerous because the floor in the room is tile and it was beyond slippery. We understand you get what you pay for , but we expected better. Again the only plus about this hotel is that the food is decent. However, beware if you want to make reservations for the 3 restaurants, better luck next time! We are
