Didn't get cooties, didn't get murdered

Location: Wal-Mart is pretty close by. There's a huge mall 2-3 miles down the road, it's fairly close to the airport and Umstead State Park is close as well.
The room was pretty worn and the outlets are in very inconvenient places. There was damage and peeling paint in places including the floor and vanity. On the bright side, like the title says, I didn't appear to pick up any bed bugs and I didn't suffer bodily harm. The breakfast was as minimal as I've ever seen but passable, be warned that there is no business center of any sort including a printer or computer, the promise of a daily newspaper is but a pipe dream. They had a problem at first of getting the wake up call right but managed to straighten it out after a while. The cleaning staff seemed to do their jobs. The desk clerks were anywhere from OK to pretty nice. Check in after 9:00 PM is through a teller window. The walls are thin but for the most part my stay was pretty quiet (I don't think the neighbors were making too much noise - I think it was just too easy to hear them). The price was the deciding factor but for me another few bucks a night might be worth the investment. The cost vs price trade off is up to you to decide. If I was looking to save money on a longer stay I might even stay there again but not enthusiastically.
