The rooms vary in terms of updates and remodel. Our original room had dirty towels and sheets along with trash and dirty dishes remaining. We were moved to a different room that was drafty, unclean, and did not have a shower. Our third room had the most uncomfortable beds - we had to use the comforter of one bed as an extra cushion to keep the springs from poking us while sleeping. The hotel was loud in terms of doors banging and closing throughout the day and night. Toiletries only included soap bars and shower gel (no shampoo or conditioner). The light above the bathroom mirror was broken. The coffee/water heater still had water in it from the previous guest. During our entire 5 days, our room was not cleaned once (even after asking a maid politely one morning). The downstairs lounge chairs had upholstery that was filthy. The staff were very friendly; however, we will never be staying at this hotel again during our annual visits to Reading.
