This quintessentially Sussex Oast House is set in the pretty village of Beckley, just 5 miles outside of Rye and is a perfect location for those wishing to explore the Sussex and Kent countryside, as well as enjoying the sandy beaches of Camber Sands, just 9 miles away. The apartment is conveniently situated for visiting nearby Bodiam Castle and Great Dixter, home to Christopher Lloydâs celebrated house and garden, and the nearby town of Rye, boasting many independent shops and restaurants, the perfect place for whiling away an afternoon. Keen foodies can enjoy wine tasting at some of the many local vineyards whilst those who enjoy a good walk will love nearby Bixley Woods or exploring the many local footpaths on offer in the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, stopping at quaint villages for afternoon tea or a pub lunch along the way.
Located adjoining the ownerâs property, this beautiful home offers spacious accommodation with all the original features of a traditional Sussex oast house. Step inside the shared front door and take the stairs up to the first floor where you will find the family bathroom before entering through one of the original doors and down a small flight of stairs to the spacious open plan lounge/diner. Relax after a busy day exploring the local area on one of the two comfortable sofas and catch up on your favourite TV programmes on the Smart TV or throw open the doors to the Juliette balcony and curl up in the armchair with a good book and enjoy the sounds of the countryside. The large dining table offer the perfect place for an evening of board games or to enjoy a home cooked meal that has been whipped up in the well-equipped kitchen. Nestled in the dining area is a nod to the propertyâs former life with the original hop press used for bagging locally produced hops. A set of steps lead from the lounge area to the two former âroundalsâ where hops were originally dried and now transformed into spacious king size and double bedrooms, one of which has an en-suite bathroom.
