very disappointed
Cons:poor/lack service, cleaning/paint rooms/public areas , poor treatment of guests,
Location:whale watching is worth it, but boats in poor shape. Chocalatera is a rocky beach about 10 minute drive away . Most shops close up by 9-10
this hotel treats guests as if we are thieves. The hotel is understaffed, Signing in took 30 minutes as there was only 1 clerk on duty. 2 people are required each with a social security# or Ecuadorian ID to be responsible for any damages You are assigned 3 cards for 3 pool towels irregardless of how many stay in the room. if you lose any cards, or the key card they will charge you extra. Internet is not included, it will cost PER PERSON. The rooms have only one window, if you do not get an ocean view with sliding doors, the city view is like being in a cave, only one small window with a very ugly view of the surrounding streets . ocean view will cost quite a bit extra. My room had bad water stains on the ceiling, cracked sink. The pathways were clean, but areas behind the doors or the edges of the hallway were dirty. The food is decent, all inclusive but there are not enough waiters, so you have to wait for drinks or assistance. The pool is clean. there are cheeseburgers, hot dogs, fries, soda included, however there is a long wait with only one person cooking.
All during the stay, you sense that there must be a tremendous theft problem, because you really feel like you are treated like a thief. Checking out was no exception, since you have to wait in line while they remove the cheap bracelet from your arm. I cannot understand why they would want them back unless they are afraid you will try to continue eating there .

Best In Salinas
Pros:Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, on the malecon, secure
The staff at this BARCELO ARE AMAZING. They took care of my fiance and self perfectly for three weeks and provided personal service. The breakfast buffet is fantastic...period. Every food, fruit and some South American specialties as well. The staff cannot refill my ice coffee or bring extra napkins fast enough. When I tipped the staff they were very appreciative and smiles were the normal everywhere. The ocean front pool and bar and service were also excellent. Our large room was EXTREMELY clean and $3 tip per day to the maid was not needed but appreciated: she did a wonderful job of extra towells, etc. GREAT HOTEL.

Not Worth The Money Spent
This hotel in Ecuador might be a four or five star hotel but, would NOT qualify as as two satr hotel in the United States.The lobby had several areas that were dirty(floors and walls).Some doors in the main lobby needed painting.The food(buffet) was good but, not great.I was charged extra for a minor difficulty,almost half of what I was paying oringinally.Other hotels on theis beach,try them instead.
