We were in the area for a funeral and arrived a couple hours early. We were struck by the outside appearance of the place. It looked very run down, and in need of lots of repairs. We asked if our room was ready and if we could check in a little early so we could shower and change for the funeral, after our long drive. She thought for a minute then said it would be a $45 fee to check in early. We said we would find another place to change.
Then, after the funeral, when we went back to check in, she demanded a $100 deposit for the room, even though we had paid for the room already, through Travelocity and there was never any mention of a deposit on the site. She said it would be refunded in 3-5 days, once she determined we hadn't damaged or stolen anything. Any refund always gets credited immediately, so I'm not sure why it would take 3-5 days.
The stairs going up to the second floor were completely rusted, and the railing was only attached at the top, so it was very unstable. The door to our room had two tiny windows at the top that were painted over and paint was peeling off the door.
A few other things.... the bed was comfortable; the soap felt like plastic and was about the size of a half dollar; the A/C worked great; The room itself was fine, but the drapes didn't cover the width of the window, so we had to improvise to cover the remaining 10 inch window space.
In general, not a great experience and we wouldn't stay there again.

When we checked in our keys didn’t work so the office had to come open the door. We walked in to a cold room with no heat. The beds had 2x4s sticking out the sides of the frame. The refrigerator did not work the coffee pot did not work. Each time we left our room we had to have the office come up and open the door. When we asked about heat we were given a small heater to plug in heater. The people running the place were wry nice but this place is not very well kept.

This was a one-star motel, though it’s advertised as an OYO hotel. While we were there the police brought home a resident, others seemed to live there, and the walls were paper thin so we were up all night because of the neighbors.

Booking a hotel on Travelocity was the worst thing l did. I booked a hotel stay at Oyó Starlite Motel at Seneca Falls and when l called to let me know l was arriving at the hotel on Friday June 25th late check in, the person at the front desk said they don’t see no reservations under my name with my confirmation number. I was so upset. I don’t understand how in the world they couldn’t see my reservation because when l called their number my phone number was an existing number with my confirmation number as well. But the hotel front desk man kept saying NO sorry we don’t see your name in our hotel system. I called Travelocity they saw my confirmation in their system but not the hotel. This is crazy and very upsetting. The stupid hotel charged me $97.02 to my credit card for one nite stay for Sat and l was not even staying at the hotel because the stupid hotel said they didn’t see no reservation under my name. I told the person at the hotel, l better not see a charged and they sure did! I called the hotel to complain and l also called Travelocity and still waiting for them to investigate and get my money back. I also went to the hotel on Sat. evening and l spoke to a lady at the front desk and she said she has nothing to do with anything as far as payments/charging someone. She said the manager’s name is Tom and to call back on Monday some time to explain. The lady didn’t find no reservation under my name stay from June 25, 2021 to June 27, 2021. What a horrible experience!

I was very surprised when I open the door to my room at the starlight motel. It was amazing for the price. I grew up across the street from the motel. As a child, I even heard about the bad rep that this motel got. I needed a place to stay and it was the cheapest. A really good price for all that is in the room. I couldn't believe that a room for $45 on a Friday came with a fridge,microwave, coffee maker. It even had it's own kitchen area with sink and table and chairs. Their was a lot of room for clothing and bags. The rooms were very clean and did not smell of anything. I thought it was cool that I had my own little bench outside my room to smoke. It was very quiet and the staff was very very helpful. I couldn't believe this hotel had such a bad rep. I even stayed another night at the hotel on Saturday. Most hotels would be way more for all that comes with a room. I will always stay here from now on when I go to Seneca falls. I will also recommend it to anyone who needs a place to stay. Spend less for more at hotel Seneca! I was very happy! Thank you again.

Avoid if possible
Pros:The owners were friendly and when I pointed out they overcharged me they refunded the money without question. The bed sheets were clean.
Cons:Really, these are very old and barely maintained building. I don't believe anything short of a complete rebuild would work.
Location:Location was fine.
No other motels were available and I had to to resort to the Starlight. Should have known that anything called Starlight would be acceptable. Pulled into an almost dirt parking lot and would have pulled out had I not committed $134 for a room worth $100 less. The so-called deluxe room was full of flys and dead bugs around the tub. There was no place to hang clothes, several lights didn't work, and the air conditioner barely operated. Moreover, there was a smell of mold in the room. The overall conditions of the room made sleeping a bit rough.
