Great staff! Everyone from the check-in desk to the bartender were amazing. The rooms were incredibly clean and comfortable. The bed was amazing. The restaurant was exceptional. We had drinks, desert, and breakfast.

Great stay. Hotel is conveniently located and virtually on top of the subway station and shopping area. It is close to restaurants and attractions. It was very quiet! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly ... every last one I came into contact with, including front desk, valet, housekeeping. All were perfect! I will be back!

The hotel was a great location, right on the Bloor-Yonge stop to the subway, which made getting around insanely easy. The mini-mall underneath the hotel is convenient too. My advice is to self park as opposed to valet, as self park only costs $24. We received a room upgrade when we arrived, which was a very pleasant surprise.

What Happened to Marriott?

Marriott used to stand for class--staff, rooms, service. This visit more closely resembled a stay at a cheap motel--surly clerk at front desk included. STAFF at this facility was uninformed about the city and basic questions about public transportation. I fault their training. A training which also overlooked basic hospitality skills. To wit--a glitch at check-in was met with indifference followed by passive-agressive over-the-top obsequious behavior. Yuck! And the ROOM--can you smell musty overlaid with half a bottle of Febreez? If so, welcome to your 6th floor room at this hotel. What a shame to have a trip to a great city overshadowed by what should simply be a pleasant set piece to a travel experience--your hotel. Shame on upper management for nor hiring and training staff and for relying on a bottle of sickly smelling artificial fragrance as a substitute for actual room maintenance. Toronto travelers, do yourself a favor--go elsewhere. If, however, you really DO want a 'grungy downtown experience' well, look for a cheaper, more authentic version than the fiasco at Marriott Bloor.

Really small room, old hotel, terrible view, underground there is a subway station so you can hear the trains and NO FREE INTERNET!!! Hard to believe!

Cons: No free Internet, Noisy, old hotel
I won't go there again. The location is fine, but the noise from the underground station is bad. I can't believe that you have to pay for in ternet. Very old building.

Construction noise

The neighborhood of this hotel is currently experiencing a large amount of new construction. I endured several hours of air hammering late into the night due to work in the condo high rise that connects to this Marriott. After four calls to the front desk, the management sent a security guard to resolve it. One would think that Marriott management would have negotiated reasonable construction hours to avoid disrupting the sleep of their guests. After my fourth complaint to the front desk they offered me a wake up call, to which I had to laugh and reply that my chances of getting ANY sleep were slim to none. They need more training. I would avoid this hotel.

Great location

The hotel is nicely located near the major shops (Holt Renfrew and Harry Rosen), the Royal Ontario Museum, and the big Manulife Center with movie theatres and shops - and it is linked through the underground pathways, so that you can avoid walking outside in the freezing cold! The hotel room was big and spacious, and the bathroom was pretty nice too. Food tip - skip the expensive breakfast and walk to Over Easy restaurant on West Bloor Street for some good brunch in a homey cafe setting.

Won't stay here again

Had to change rooms TWO times in three days. Once because there was hair all over the bathroom and the shower was clogged, and once because the thermostat was broken in our room. After all the inconvenience, all we got was a free breakfast voucher, and even that was awful, because I found a hair on my sausage!! I will say that the bed itself was very comfortable, but the hotel service and the hotel itself definitely left a lot to be desired. NOT a 4-star, and I will not be staying here again.

You won't want to leave your room!

The Marriott Bloor Yorkville was great. It's in a super location, near Yorkville, shopping, and subway. But the beds are probably the best feature of this hotel. In the morning you'll be torn between, starting your day in beautiful Toronto, or staying in these ultra-comfy beds a little longer. The lobby and resturant aren't much to write home about, however the service at the hotel was excellent. The people working there really went out of their way to help you out. Overall, I would suggest it to anyone traveling ot Toronto.
