Had to check in at 11:45am as flight arrived early and the hotel had room ready. Was charged extra $20 plus tax Early Check-in fee. It never happened before when I had similar situation with other hotels. And the front desk guy wasn’t friendly.

airport transportation not available for late and early flights

Cons: poor shuttle hours
I arrived at the airport at 9:30 at night and found to my dismay that the shuttle had shut down at 6 pm, luckily another hotel shuttle driver brought me to the hotel. In the morning I had to be at the airport before the shuttle would run, this was a cost and an inconvenience.

a terrible smell of paint during the whole hotel is remodeling, my room the light not working in many place, Hotel check in staff was no polite & no smile, During Hotel staff to clean my room & others I saw it is very unprofessional train. They don't park their service car to block any person walk by can go in to the room to steal thing. Security is terrible. Everyday serve a terrible quality toilet paper is too rough & hard to use it toilet. There is no comment & suggestion form inside room for customer feed back. I feel like sleep on the street. to far from attractions

Pros: It was nice served the purpose, a place to sleep. Not much around the area of interest.
Cons: I would have liked to have more input from staff as to how to get around the city and back to the main attractions of Van Couver
Location: Needs more diversity for dining. 95% Asian there now
I did not know logistics and should have looked for a hotel closer to area attractions. I was thinking close to the airport would be the best. I wish I had known more about the area. Not the hotels fault by any means.

if you need to be by the Vancouver airport i highly recommend the la quinta inn. the staff was very professional, the room very clean, compfortable,good breakfast and the van service very relialbe.

Cons: Assistance with transport to other venues was be greatly appreciated.
Location: The location was poor in regards to the airport and there was nothing near by.
We needed early transport to the airport and the shuttle was not available. The front desk did help with taxi arrangements. We needed transport to our cruise ship and was referred to a company for transport. This company did not arrive as scheduled. The front desk referred us to a phone to call and confirm the pickup but the phone was "busy". When the front desk was approached for assistance I was told that "that phone often does not work properly". They did help with taxi arrangements. Total experience with the expected assistance was poor and total impression of Vancouver was extremely poor.

No 24hr Airport Shuttle

Room was okay as expected for a La Quinta hotel. Booked hotel because of info in hotel stating a 24 hr airport shuttle. Arrived late at night to find no shuttle plus when we questioned there info on the website we were basically blown off. If I had known this I would have chosen a different hotel.

Disappointed

We did not love where the hotel was located. It was next to a vacant lot and the surrounding area looked a bit run down. We do not know Vancouver well, but it didn't seem like a very safe area. The parking lot was tiny and we had difficulty finding a spot to park. The pool was tiny. My kids are little, and even they wouldn't have had room to swim or play around. We had booked a non-smoking room and when we got to our room, it reeked of smoke. It was really awful. We debated switching rooms, but because of the pool, parking and location, we decided to cancel our reservation and move to a different hotel. On the positive side, the staff was very courteous about letting us cancel and the lobby looked nice.
