Terrific Hotel w/One Caveat

Pros: Good/pleasant hotel staff, great concierge staff, great views, ARC restaurant.
Cons: Bathrooms need complete overhaul (including ditch the tubs and put in modern showers); elevators, general room condition.
Location: Great location; lots of things are close and easy to het to.
The hotel overall is excellent--although some of the rooms (especially bathrooms) and the elevators could certainly use a remodel. Concierge staff is fabulous. Restaurant is pleasant. We stayed twice--at both ends of a week on the Rocky Mountaineer. The first weekend was made up of two reservations--both at the same price point (I won't bore you with why). A week before our stay I called the hotel and requested the two reservations be treated as one--so we would not have to change rooms, etc. The woman I spoke said it was all taken care of. When we checked in, however, (at 1 in the morning), they acted like they knew nothing about my call or the resolution that was arranged. Although we ended up in a nice harbor/Stanley Park view room, it took longer than necessary, and they failed to deliver to us an important letter from Rocky Mountaineer until it was too late. When I complained to a desk clerk about the internal missed communication, he merely apologized and that was it. When I complained to an obviously more experienced clerk at checkout, he was gracious enough to offer to comp our breakfast and minibar charge. We certainly appreciated that gesture. The weekend after the train trip was flawless--great harbor view room and impeccable service.

The only disappointing factor was the bathtub. Initially I thought the floor of the tub was dirty but it was cleaned. It was stained brown so the appearance was not nice and not expected for a five star hotel.

Excellent location!

The view of the harbor from our room was beautiful, and the hotel is very conveniently located next to the Waterfront Station transit hub. We we're able to travel to and from the airport and do all of our sightseeing via public transit. Hotel staff were pleasant and helpful, and we enjoyed the informative tour of the hotel's terrace gardens, beehives, and native pollinators nesting box.

Classy hotel with great service.

Stayed for 3 nights with my teenage granddaughter over spring break. Beautiful room and very quiet. We loved the workout room, heated outdoor pool, hot tub, and swimming in the rain. We also enjoyed the complimentary bicycles and took a nice ride around Stanley Park. Super location and fantastic food. The staff, from housekeepers to reception and everyone in between, made us feel welcome.

Not worth the price

Pros: Close restaurants, convenient location
Cons: No free Internet, outdated
Although the hotel staff was very nice and accommodating, the price tag was not worth the visit. The room was a bit dated and the elevators were extremely slow. The pictures on the hotel website make the hotel seem much nicer and modern than it actually is. The pool was pretty tiny, and definitely did not provide enough space for adults and children.

Gem of a Hotel

This was my first time in Vancouver and I believe that we made an excellent choice in a hotel to complement our entire trip. The location was great and very convenient to subway system, food and shopping. The staff was friendly and courteous and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Hotel had a very nice lobby lounge restaurant/bar with live entertainment on Friday & Saturday evening and the club level has a wonderful spread for breakfast and afternoon snacks. Magnificent hotel & staff experience...I would definitely return.

Great location, very nice hotel

I was attending a conference in the area and found I could get a better rate at this excellent hotel than the official host hotels. This hotel is essentially across the street from the convention center (closer than the official host hotels). It was convenient to all price ranges and types of restaurants, very close to the Waterfront Station for catching the SkyTrain (to airport) and SeaBus to go to Grouse Mountain, and an acceptable walking distance to Stanley Park. The room was clean and of decent size. The bed was very comfortable. I do hate to pay for the internet, but at least wireless was available and the signal was strong. I did not take advantage of the pool (heated, but outdoors) on this visit, but was told by other guests that the facilities were very nice. I also did not have any meals at the hotel, so cannot comment on the food. Staff, including the registration desk, bell staff, and housecleaning , were are very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and this location.
