A cozy Okanagan cottage for your getaway

Getaway this summer to the URBAN COTTAGE! This is a quaint home located just a couple minutes from Okanagan Lake. Casually decorated for comfort and relaxation with nice linens. All you need to do is bring your personal belongings and groceries as the kitchen is well-stocked with small appliances and most items you will need. Oil and balsamic vinegar, spices and you’ll find some basic condiments in the fridge too. Enjoy the patio and large backyard for summer activities, and finish off the day by the fire-pit.

Perfect for what we needed
Great to have our own home base when in town visiting family. Had everything we needed for our stay. Backyard was the best. Room for the kids to run, shade and sun, chickens and even a visit from a deer. Also got to share our stay with a nesting robin. Will book again on our next visit.

Property is located about a 2 min drive from a nice quiet beach on Okanagan Lake. Unfortunately, the property is also located on a pretty busy road, so there is a lot of traffic noise all day. Also, the Vernon airport is right across the street, so you can hear planes and helicopters through the day. The air conditioner is a portable unit which was located in the larger bedroom, taking up plenty of floor space. The weather was cool while we stayed so we didn't need A/C, but this would not keep the entire property cool on a hot day. Plus, it was very loud. No way you could have that on during the night while you slept. Owners assisted with one small issue. There are two chicken coops in the backyard.

False advertising. “Lake front” does not mean 1.6km from the lake. The pictures of a play structure and beach with the caption “property grounds” is misleading too. Poor location for holiday. The door lock was programmed incorrectly on our arrival and the property owners were unreachable for an hour and half. Very unapologetic. Disrespectful towards my family on their arrival. Uncomfortable beds. Place was clean. Kitchen well equiped. Kind enough to allow a late checkout after 4 nights.

Decent little house near the beach
This was a good little house to stay at near the beach in Vernon. The only negatives were the beds are not comfortable and the AC is actually a portable unit not central AC. No dishwasher either but wasn't an issue for us. Good communication with owner and kept very clean.

An old house by the airport. The accommodations were fine. It was just a place for us to sleep one night. I was most displeased with the lack of communication as we had asked about local wildfire conditions. We never heard back, meanwhile, the City and my car was covered in ash and we awoke to an evacuation alert due to fires in the immediate vacinity. This is not how you keep your guests safe. Tourists had been asked not to enter Vernon. We did not know and would have made other arrangements.

Great location.
Nice cottage with great location close to all amenities and multiple lakes. Air con a bonus, can be noisy but ideal for heat-wave conditions. Any minor concerns dealt with quickly and effectively by owner and eggs/wine on arrival a lovely touch. Would stay here again.
