I can't say enough good things about this hotel. You are 2 blocks away from the Smithsonian museums, the Metro and the Circulator DC. The staff checking us in was amazing and kept their cool even though the fire alarm was going off upon our arrival. We never encountered an unfriendly face our entire stay. The restaurant in the hotel was amazing. Kenny was our server a couple of times and she made my youngest feel so at peace (doesn't enjoy eating out). With the incredible heat during our time we spent lots of downtime by the outdoor pool on the 9th floor. The life guard was so kind and attentive to those in the pool. The view was amazing as well. You could see the dome of the Capital in the distance. Our room was very clean as well as the hotel. I would say make sure you have your snacks before coming or while you are out as there are no vending machine (tragic result of Covid) but Soda vending & Ice machines on each floor. There are some offerings in the lobby at The Market but those can only be only be purchased by a card. We did use Uber and Lyft during our stay also - those trips were safe and efficient. If you are thinking of using Door dash or another delivery service - IT'S VERY EXPENSIVE! Just some pre-planning needed - McDonalds, My Own Pizza and a deli are located downstairs on the same block as the hotel. There is a Safeway grocery story a few blocks away. I would definitely recommend this hotel for your next DC stay!

We came for a family vacation for Memorial Day weekend. We called the hotel and told them we would be traveling to the hotel the next day. We explained that we wanted to see if we needed to bring towels for the pool, as it is located outside or of the hotel provided them. We were told towels were not provided in the pool area. There was no mention at this time that the pool was not open and that the city needed to inspect it prior to opening. We only found out when the key cards wouldn’t open the pool area door and spoke to the front desk and were informed of this. If we had known the pool was not open, we would have selected another hotel in the area. It was disappointing for our children, as we had packed their bathing suits and towels and they couldn’t swim. We asked if there was any area hotels that the hotel might have a reciprocal relationship with that we could use somewhere else but there were none. If you are planning on using the pool, call ahead and verify before you book. Very disappointed. Location to the Smithsonian museums was the only redeeming quality.

The property was convenient for what we planned to do. Cabs were available and it was an easy walk to the Mall.

Room was fine...a bit cramped with no seating other then beds. Our room was on a back side along 4 train tracks that had mutiple freight trains rumble through during the night. They were very long and did wake up the family each time. Its close to the mall and attractions. It seemed very busy at check in with loud lobby and lots going on.

I liked the location because it was close to the start and finish lines for the Cherry Blossom race. The price for parking was was surprising.
