In January of 2020, we made reservations to spend 3 nights at Rush Creek Lodge at Yosemite and visit Yosemite National Park using our lifetime senior citizen National Park pass. A week prior to our trip, we discovered that we couldn't visit Yosemite w/o a special pass due to COVID, thus, we had to cancel our reservation. When they verified our reservation by email, they failed to tell us about the COVID special pass needed to enter the park. When we had to cancel our reservation due to the COVID restrictions, they refused to refund our deposit, thus, they charged us almost $500 for a room in which we were restricted from staying. Their name, Rush Creek Lodge "at Yosemite" implies that they are located WITHIN the National Park. If that had been the case, then we would have been allowed to enter the park with the reservations for lodging within the park. They are NOT within the park, but rather, are located 1 mile OUTSIDE the park.
They should have refunded the deposit to us! Shame on them for taking advantage of senior citizens like that!

The property itself is beautiful and lots of activities for younger kids (9 years and younger ). The Villa was not clean and even after letting them know it still remained dirty. One day they didn’t even completely make the beds, they just left the over throw blanket thrown on top of the bed. The villas are nothing fancy and pretty pricey for what you get. I would recommend bringing simple stuff for breakfast and lunch ( has refrigerator ).... restaurant is very pricey. There is no restaurant near (30 minutes away). The general store in the hotel has done good grab and go meals, but again not cheap. Hopefully their housecleaning staff can figure out how to properly clean a room. Our villa also had some water damage on the floor that I believe should of been taken care of before we arrived.

Villa with 2 king bed and sofa bed
Sofa is terrible quality and will give you back pain. Did they try to help solve the problem?
They tried by giving me more blankets and changing the mattress.. Was the flimsy mattress that is 3 inch high would not solve the problem.
They said they will try to see if they can find a queen mattress to put it in, but it was not available. They said they could put the flimsy mattress only on the floor for my husband and i to sleep.
They claimed I declined their solution. What happened to the statement that they would not charge me for the 2nd night? Did they charge me 2nd night? sure they did.. Plus dealing with the rude general manager was another big disappointment.
It is not worth your aggravation and shot to sleep with backache.

This lodge is Amazing!!! Great for families with small or teens kids or couples getaway. Food is great, plenty of options.... only 40 minutes from the park... every night they had an activity for adults or kids. I will definitely recommend.
