We stayed here for our 38th anniversary. We enjoyed the food at the restaurants we were able to get into. Da Vinci was one we tried to get in the whole time we were there but they were always booked up. The staff were professional but very friendly. The drinks were delicious. On the down side, the water pressure in the shower was very weak. The sink did not have hot water. We also didn't realize this was a timeshare property. It was off-putting to be asked numerous times to attend the 90 minute session. We were celebrating our anniversary, not looking for a timeshare. It was very annoying. On of the issues that really annoyed us is that we booked with the travel agent, Norma, and specifically asked to be booked to see the ruins. We reiterated that point numerous times and she even showed us the video. So she booked us on a caravan with us going to a beach. She even repeated to us about the ruins and the beach. We assumed we were doing both. Well, that didn't happen. We weren't able to see the ruins and paid $224 to see the beach. This was a tour from 9:00-4:30. I went to see Norma about this and she said she told us it was the beach - that the ruins was a different tour and she could book us on that if we wanted. I was floored. She lied to us and I will not visit this hotel again. We will be staying at a different hotel the next time we go back.

We have travelled to Cancun numerous times. This resort was nice but not our favorite. For the restaurants you need to book at 9 am otherwise you will not get a reservation. The food was not great and unfortunately we felt like they didn’t have enough staff. When you ordered a drink from the beach or lobby bar it took a long time to get it. Other resorts allowed food like nachos to be ordered and you could eat around the pool or on the beach. They would not allow you to carry any food out or ask waiters for food. The beach bar was really nice and we did really like this area. The hot tub was also very nice. The pools are too spread out so you didn’t really didn’t know when activities were happening and the pool water was too cold to get in. The hotel itself was fine but since we have stayed at several in Cancun this would not be our favorite. Also, avoid the person that greets you at check in as they are trying to sell timeshare and consistently try to get you to come to a presentation.

Just did not like being hot up with a time share first thing as I walked in door after long travel day. Just wanted to check in and get to room and eat.

We loved this resort. The staff was amazing and very accommodating, the bar staff was AMAZING! We got lucky during our stay and were able to assist the lifeguard staff in releasing the sea turtles, it was a magical moment. Now unfortunately the negative part. The pool area, sidewalks around the resort, and the flooring inside the rooms is EXTREMELY SLICK. My wife managed to fall twice, both being outside on the concrete. The tiles are extremely slick even with no shoes. Late at night when the humidity collects, the flooring the the room is also extremely slick. I warn anyone with back or hip issues to proceed with EXTREME caution because you will fall. The slick and dangerous flooring is the ONLY bad comment I have to say about this entire resort. We will definitely consider this resort again in the future!

My unfortunate experience at the Whyndham Grand Cancun should serve as a cautionary tale for anyone considering a stay at this establishment. While the physical facilities are great, the issue with it makes it a destination to avoid at all costs...Upon my arrival, I had the misfortune of encountering a persistent group of individuals at the lobby who relentlessly hounded me to participate in timeshare-like schemes. I was exhausted from a lengthy and delayed flight, so I wished to unwind and relax. Instead, the hotel lobby's staff subjected me to an excruciating ordeal. They coerced me into a lengthy meeting with a sales representative, cunningly disguised as part of the check-in process. This meeting lasted well over an hour, wasting my precious vacation time and forcing me into a high-pressure sales pitch. The Whyndham Grand Cancun's blatant disregard for guests' well-being and relaxation, coupled with their deceptive tactics, has left an indelible mark of dissatisfaction. I strongly advise prospective travelers to steer clear of this establishment, as it is clear that their primary concern lies in extracting every last penny from their unsuspecting guests rather than providing a truly enjoyable and stress-free vacation experience.

La vista restaurant was terrible , including the front desk but beside that rest of the staff was good. Best was the restaurant at the beach. We ate breakfast and dinner most of the time due to friendly staff and view of course
