Can't Wait to Go Back

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants
Cons: dated rooms green building
Food: Actually food very good “Barefoort on the Beach” get there at the beginning of lunch or the end otherwise you will be waiting and waiting for your lunch. Sundowner very good very pretty if you want some different wine you will have to wait a bit, service was great wait staff lovely. Kimonos great new twist to hibachi made with some Reggae bogging, lots of fun. Food was great. Main restaurant “Bayside” lunch and breakfast buffet Great!! Dinner was also very good. Service was great. It is mostly outdoors if you don’t mind the company of some garlins that look like white herrings you will be very pleased. “Dino’s” was excellent, try to go late when it is cooler. Beach: Wow gorgeous keep walking along beach and find a sandy spots with less seaweed, however, who cares about seaweed with gorgeous three shades of blue and green water. Sand is cool and white. When in the water look down it’s pretty. However, not to scare you look for sea urgents. They are spikey star fish, very pretty but is you step on one you will be startled. I was swimming alongside a sting ray who was afraid of me NOT dangerous very cool. Vendors: very controlled believe you are not constantly bothered by vendors the resort guards let a certain amount threw and they are very courteous and polite not pushy at all. They carry some beautiful things take a peek. Drinking: Ok I am officially a wind snob; Beringer Chardonnay is not for me. So I spent a good amount of money on Bottles of “Chateau St. Jean” to the tune of $48 a bottle. The good news Berenger Red is good. The sweet stuff was delicious and pretty new exotic drinks served everywhere with a smile. Rooms: Well this is when it gets dicey. We had the Concierge Room yes it was fully stocked with liquor with a beautiful view and very clean, however it was dated the bathroom was dated and our water pressure was not so great. We did take a peek at the Crystal lagoon rooms, and the millionaire Suite, and let me tell you, they were gorgeous. Needless to say we upgraded to the Millionaire Suited gave up our view for a deluxe bathroom and a private terrace, living room, two big screen TV’s etc. etc. We could only have the last two nights due to our availability. Pool side: The main pool was fun swim up bar a lagoon in the morning they have activities I took some Salsa lessons it was fun. Then they have couples activities. If you are looking for a more peaceful environment around the pool go later in the afternoon they play calmer music and people are just lounging. Staff: They get my vote for being the most hospitable people on a resort and I have been on a view including the Ritz Carlton in Naples Florida. They were totally up to the Ritz Carlton Gold standards without looking for a tip. However, if you want to tip sneak it. They all deserve it. Night Activities: Piano Bar was fun then after that they break out to a fun disco. There is always a show at the Main restaurant stage which was very entertaining. The big attraction for the Young people was the Reggae Party on the Beach near the Cabanas. We wen early and the young people where having a blast dancing and around to a great Reggae Band and let me tell you that party went on to the wee hours. Made me wish I was young again and could keep up. We talked to some couple that stayed all night and they said it was a memory making fun filled time.

have been twice. Going for a 3rd time

Pros: staff is super nice.
Cons: No free Internet
This review is compared to going to riveria mayia and a cruise on carnival freedom ship. Staff here was great. Food was way better compared to the other places. I thought it was pretty decent. It's better than cafeteria food since they have to feed so many different types of people. Not much of a night life which was fine for us. People complain the pool was small, however your setting on the ocean - who needs a pool? We didn't think it was dirty. The hotel is older, but everything thing works and you don't have to live there.

The staff was great, food and amenities, average

Pros: Free breakfast
Cons: Nothing close, No free Internet, Noisy, very very noisy
After all the hype and reviews we had heard about Sandals resorts, we were prepared to be impressed, but unfortunately that's not what happened. We went to Sandals Negril the second week in November for our son's wedding and stayed for 4 nights. The high points were the service and the staff, the bed was pretty comfortable, the room adequate, the beach small and the water murky, and the food just average. Neither my wife or I drink much alcohol so the value of all inclusive was not realized. We honeymooned at Kiahuna Plantation on Kauai, Hawaii several years ago and liked it much better. We would not return to Sandals Negril

DONT GO JAMAICA IS DIRTY AND DRUG DEALERS ARE EVERYWHERE AT SANDALS

Cons: No free Internet, Poor breakfast, rude staff, run down rooms, mold on front area pillows, drug dealer all in the resort, bad service
We started off going into the room at sandals negril in a honeymoon suite with ocean view and the room was stocked with 3 waters and peanuts that you can buy for 9 bucks , knowing this is all inclusive place and you can eat at a buffet all you want but if you eat peanuts in your room your charged for it ??? i don't understand . The room was run down and had a smell to it and me and my fiancee started to get bit by the bugs in the room so bad that the professional pictures that we took we can only show are face because of the bug bites on are legs and arms are showing , we where there for a friends wedding thats also a reason for the pro pictures . ask the house keeper to take care of the bugs in are room she states "this is Jamaica theres bugs everywhere . So that didnt help . Ok here is the big issue we are both non drug users while laying out on the beach in the resort across from our room you will get asked about 5 times by 3 to 4 different people if you want to buy sea shells , weed , hash, brownies this is all in 20 minutes and after you say no they will come back say people and ask you again after the walk up and down the beach . you think you can get away from them if you go in the water Thats a NO a guy with a jet ski named BLUE DRAGON will find you in the water and ask you multiple times if you want to go jet skiing or do you want weed he will drive his jet ski in waist high water to get at you for a sale of his goods as soon as he leaves a older man in a white and blue small fishing boat will try to sell you weed and other drugs . That is everyday on the beach ... Food . do to the heat there and the setup of there food they start by taking out the bread and bagels at 6 am for a 7am breakfast service so the breads are bad in one hour in the heat and when they run out of stuff at breakfast they don't replace anything they run a smoothie bar that if you don't go to it first thing they run out of all the fruit and they never restock it . all the veggies have almost no taste and most are unripened to start . leaving the resort is not recommended we did because we have wedding plans outside the resort 2 times and both times we wish we didn't PLAIN AND SIMPLE JAMAICANS ARE RUDE AND THEY WILL TREAT A GIRL LIKE THEY OWN THEM AND THEY ARE VERY AGGRESSIVE EVEN WHEN YOU TELL THE NO ... the resort gets a taxi to go to a bar and we stay there for a few hours the taxi driver is suppose to stay with you so they take you back to the resort well our taxi driver was MIA and we asked a staff member if they seen him and they went looking for him and found him at the bar drinking he comes swaying back to the taxi with beer in his hand i took a picture of all of this . and he says i always have a good time here and we had a drunk taxi driver bring us back to the resort . to sum this all up . food is about C- pizza was ok everything else was tasteless . The room is a D do to being run down and bugs . the Beach is a B because of the white sands and clean water but you cant enjoy it with all the drug dealers pestering you . The staff D most of them are rude and you say hello and half don't respond to you . DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY AT THIS PLACE IT IS NOT WORTH IT

Food related to island culture. Entertainment every nite then after show there a live dj at one of the bars. Music is awesome. Beach small But adequate ,clean and secured. Weather perfectly hot..actually would go back. Look for Jenine from entertainment she was full on info and sweet to have lunch with.

Wonderful 1st vacation at Sandals Negril

Pros: friendly staff, beautiful beach
Cons: No free Internet
I was very apprehensive about our trip as after I booked it, I read a few horrid reviews. Those reviewers must be very fussy people though, as our trip was WONDERFUL. Upon arrival at airport we waited for a very short time in the hospitality room. In no time we were loaded on our bus and off to the resort. The ride was about 1.5 hours long with a brief stop to stretch and get a drink if we wanted. We were greated at Sandals with a cold towel and beverage and were in our rooms within 15 minutes. We stayed in the Grande Luxe Beachfront. We did NOT have a butler or concierge and despite other reviews, didn't need one. I also need to mention the resort was completely full and we still never had an issue. The room: average, great location steps from the water(Coconut Cove), fridge stocked daily at no extra cost. We really only used our room to sleep, shower and change clothes. The beach: BEAUTIFUL. We spent most of our beach time close to the piano bar. We never had a problem getting chairs or floats and there was 18 of us in our group! Yes, several things were reserved, but people were willing to share. The food: Above average. The Bayside served buffet style and was just average. This is were we grabbed our breakfast each morning. Dino's served up pasta with your choice of the fixings. It was right by our room, so we ate there twice and we felt it was really good. Cafe' Sandals was where we would grab a snack or quick lunch, it was great and the pizza shop was EXCELLENT! Sundowner was average, not a lot of choices, but service was good. I've heard wonderful things about Kimono's, but we were unable to keep our reservation. Keep in mind that you need to make a reservation as soon as you arrive at the resort as they book quickly AND men need to have long pants and close toe shoes which none of the men in our group had. :( The pools: small and very cold. They were never crowded probably because of this! The hot tubs were full at most times though. The staff: EXCELLENT! All were very friendly and willing to please us. We took part in a few evening activities in the Bayside, which were really fun. If the Silver Birds steel drum band is there, GO...they are excellent. The other hightlight was taking the "booze cruise" to Rick's and Margarittaville, it was a blast! I didn't take part in any water activities, but heard great things about the snorkeling. I must say the facility itself is nothing fantastic, it is showing it's age and there are many "luxurious" resorts out there, but the staff and beach is what makes me want to go back to Sandals Negril again. How much fun you have, is up to YOU. BTW...check out the beach at Hedonism II...wow! And walk up the beach and visit the locals. All of it will make you smile. :)

Nice, but wouldn't return.

Service was good. Beach was nice. Sunset was awesome. Resort was old, somewhat dirty and in desperate need of rehab. Rooms were not that nice, stayed in a grande luxe beach view. Pools were very small. Food was pretty good, not great. Resort occupies a long, skinny section of the beach.

Nice but could be better

The Sandals Negril resort was very nice but there were a couple of things that would've made it better. The place was beautiful the service was really nice. The things I didn't like is that even though we had an all-inclusive package, there were a few amenities that still cost that I feel should have been included. For example, the massage packages were way over priced. The photo packages were way over priced. They even charged us for a camera in our room that we did not use. We had to go through a long difficult process with the manager and housekeeper to get the camera price taken off of our bill. There were only 4 restaurant choices and only 2 of them had good menu choices. We're glad we went. We had a great time, but we won't be back anytime soon.

Had a wonderful time!

We had a fantastic vacation! We were at Sandals Montego Bay for our Honeymoon 7 years ago and were fortunate enough to vacation at Sandal’s Negril this past week. From the food, to the room, to the staff everything was top notch! We especially wanted to send kudos to Mackey. He was on our boat for our snorkeling as well as our boat trip over to Rick's cafe. He goes above and beyond to ensure all of the guests are having a great time! Everywhere he went on the resort he was greeted by all the guests because they all loved his outgoing personality. We also wanted to thank Josh. He was our instructor for our Scuba certification. He was extremely knowledgeable and willing to accommodate our schedules. He was a greater teacher and made us feel very confident in our scuba diving abilities. Both of these gentlemen are an asset to the Sandals Resort. Finally, we can not begin to tell you how much we loved our room. We were fortunate enough to get a beach side room with a balcony. It was awesome! The view was a welcomed surprise! Thanks again to all the staff at Sandals Negril for making this vacation one to remember. We will definitely be back!
