Sardinian villa on Porto Istana Bay

Sardinian typical villa surrounded by mediterranean vegetation with its characteristic perfumes. From the dining-room and the porch you can benefit of an astonishing view over the bay of Porto Istana and the marvellous islands of Tavolara, Molara, Molarotto and other minor ones. There is a terrace where you have the sensation of being part of the immense sea below. The other porch, in the back of the house, with its outside kitchen and dining table, is surrounded by the garden with typical sardinian plants and giant granite rocks. There is also a nice dependance with a beautiful view of the shore, and a wooden shed for a car.

Main Villa:
The house was built restoring an old typical sardinian “stazzu”, with the aim of mantaining the rural character of the original style. The Villa has two beautiful porches, one in the front that “watches” the sea, and the other in the back. The entrance door beneath the front porch leeds you in the living room with its gourgious window and a big fireplace; from there you reach the dining area with a table big enough for 6-8 people and the kitchen with a big fridge, oven, microwave and dish-washer. From there you reach the back porch with another cooker, a sink, a washing machine and the mentioned table made with granite, very nice to use in the warm summer evenings when the “scirocco” is blowing from the south-east.
There is a master bed-room with a sturdy rock wall and fire-place, with its own bathroom and shower.
There are two more bedrooms with two beds each: in each room, one of the beds is placed on a mezzanine and has steel steps directly in the wall; very nice for children. Of course there is a second bathroom with shower.
In the living-room there is a flat tv and a small hi-fi.
Recently we did some improvements to the house, so you will find a brand new air-conditioning system, very usefull in the mid season in the chilly nights, and some times in the very hot summer days.

Dependance:
Beneath the terrace, there is a dependance with a master-bed and two single-beds, ideal for a couple with one or two childs, with its own bathroom and shower and also with a small area with a sink. The apartment has two big niches with windows right on the bay with the two mentioned single-beds.

The Outside:
The house is built on a hill, so it is normally freshened by the local breezes. The front porch has fixed sofas, and beyond the little lawn there is a terrace with it’s outstanding view of the sea and another big table in granite; the terrace is ideal for evening chats on the chaise-longs or for sun-tanning in the day.
On the west side of the house (opposite to the entrance) there is an outside shower with hot water very useful after a day swimming at the beach.

The villa is on a hill right over one of the nicest bays in Sardinia: Porto Istana; few kms south of Olbia at about 15 minutes from the airport and less than 20 from the port. It is located within the “Area Marina Protetta di TAVOLARA” surrounded by white beaches and it has the best view of the magnificient island of Tavolara and its “sister” Molara. Other islands like “Isola Piana”, “Isola di Cavallo” are even closer and easy to visit simply by renting a small boat.
From the house it is very easy to reach the surrounding beaches by foot in abaut 10-15 minutes. Near the main beach of Porto Istana there is a restaurant pizzeria and a cafe. In Murta Maria, about two kms from the house, you will find some shops, two super-markets, few restaurants, few cafes and ice-cream shop.
