Half the staff was incredibly friendly. Diana Laura Madrigal was awesome. “Rossi” at the front desk was super helpful. Leti from the buffet was excellent as well. Aside from these people everything else was terrible. The room was incredibly dirty. Water would come in from the light above the hot tub. Nobody came to fix it. All the “decent restaurants” were fully booked. You have to make a reservation instead of being able to walk in. The buffet has a wide variety of food. The beach, the restaurants and everything else is a very long walk from the hotel rooms although they do offer a little golf cart shuttle, it fills up fast. They offer you a free 50 minute massage only if you attend their time share presentation that takes up your entire morning. Andrea at the front desk was very rude as well. Don’t waste your time or money here if you’re looking for something family friendly. There are plenty of other hotels that people downtown were raving about that exceeded expectations.

It is not mandatory to attend and the free massage offer is completely optional.We understand that the distance from the hotel to the beach and facilities may be an inconvenience for some guests. The pool was dirty the whole time I was there. Did not serve premium alcohol like the ad says. Drinking glass were not properly washed or sanitized very nasty. The ac in the room barely blew any cool air. Bathroom smelled like sewer the entire stay. Food was terrible at all the eating places but one ( blue moon ) only one waiter at pool side the entire stay ( 30 min to get a drink ). Stayed there to do something different besides staying in hotel zone. I have been to Cancun 17 times and have never been this disappointed at a property. I will not come back to sandos playacar.

I travel a lot and have stayed at many resorts and this has been by far my least favorite one. From the moment we arrived, having to wait in a long line to check in (it seriously took close to an hour), it just went downhill from there. The staff are NOT friendly. I'm used to people greeting you in the mornings, to people asking you if you need anything, here, you can forget about all that. It's evident that the culture here is toxic, that people just hate their jobs. They look and seem miserable. The rooms are outdated. I couldn't even figure out how to adjust the temperature in my room. There was no hair conditioner available which is just crazy to me. Also, is it crazy that they DON'T restock the fridge with beer? I had to call room service to get some and when I asked for 10 of them, they said I could only get 6! Is this absolutely ridiculous or is it just me? Not that I was going to drink all 10 of them, I just didn't want to keep calling room service to restock the fridge myself. Also, the MAIN reason why I will never be returning to this resort is because I was forced to book a room in the family section because I have a son, keep in mind that both my parents also traveled with me but booked a separate room, however, they were going to watch my son the majority of the time. One night I tried to go watch the basketball game with my cousins and I was told I couldn't be in that bar because I had a blue wristband, mind you, I had people watching my son. RIDICULOUS.

Dear Guest, We regret the poor impression you had about the resort and the inconvenience you had to face. We will review every single point you are mentionning to improve and take measures to correct, where possible. The hotel has different areas for families, adults and members of the vacational club, and different color wristbands. In cases like yours the hotel can make an exception and you can ask to upgrade your wristbands to the adults only so that you can stay in adults areas, without your son, and enjoy all the areas. Again, we are very sorry that your overall vacation was not up to your expectations. We hope to have the chance to serve you again in the future and be able to change your perception. Regards.
