This was a trip for two including flight and hotel, and I chose this resort primarily for three reasons: proximity to the beautiful Grace Bay Beach, proximity to shops and restaurants, and availability of amenities (both things like kayaks and an in-unit washer and dryer and dishwasher in the one-bedroom ocean view condo). Service was generally quite good, though Priscilla really shone at the front desk and the cleaning staff were helpful delivering items to the room, while some others seemed to take their time (like with the watersports equipment and communicating room needs to other staff). Maintenance of the large unit with spacious balcony was not terrible, but could have been better (dripping kitchen faucet, bedroom door wouldn't close properly, bathroom fan sounded like it needed to be serviced/replaced, and gym equipment also sounded like it needed some maintenance, though we used it all). The weather was quite windy while we were there, but we still managed to swim in the ocean, and kayak once. Hot tub was warm but had no working upper jets (though a maintenance request had supposedly been put in). Keep in mind that while the Graceway Gourmet is within walking distance, it's not the cheapest supermarket on the island, and the nearby lab does not work on weekends for COVID-19 tests. As in many hotels, noise from outside and surrounding units was an issue. We were in Building 1, so some dropping weights and landscaping noise outside (Building 3 might be better).

The beach 🏝️, multiple pools, and spa were wonderful. There were different areas by the pools so you could be more secluded if you chose to be. There were inflatables & sand toys for the kids to use as well as shallow pools for them. The grounds were well maintained with many different kinds of island flowers and plenty of palm trees. The food at Hemingway’s was very good & well prepared. Our room with a partial view of the ocean was quite comfortable and clean and very spacious. The large balcony was screened to keep out bugs & had 2 lounge chairs as well as a table to seat four people. The kitchen was well equipped & the washer/dryer combo was an extra bonus and came in handy after time at the beach. There was a TV in the bedroom as well as the living room area which was quite nice. There was plenty of closet space & many drawers for clothes. The overhead fans in the bedroom & living room were unexpected & great as we like to sleep with moving air. The special oatmeal soap for bathing was top of the line & kept your skin from drying out from the salty ocean water. We were quite pleased with our experience at The Sands.

The beachfront was clean, staff are very friendly. Overall AMAZING experience!! Our room was an ocean view and was very accommodating. Dislike- the bed was uncomfortable.
