What you can expect

Venture out to the Isle of Skye and drive through the natural beauty of Scotland on this day-long tour. Travel past sights like the Moray Firth before arriving in Skye, where your guide shows you breathtaking landscapes. Also explore the medieval Eilean Donan Castle before heading back.

Leave the bustle of Inverness behind as you drive towards the Isle of Skye. Your journey takes you past breathtaking vistas of the Moray Firth as you pass over the Kessock Bridge. Pause in the town of Strathcarron to see the glassy waters of Loch Carron, then make your way through the island of Eilean Ban into the Isle of Skye.

Your driver shows you the stunning Cuillin Hills, whose majestic ranges rise in rounded red peaks and pinnacles of dark, jagged rock. Admire the spectacular mountains from a distance before crossing the Sligachan Bridge, an ancient stone structure that crosses the supposedly enchanted waters of the River Sligachan. Head into Portree, the charming capital of Skye, where you have time to explore and grab lunch on your own.

After Portree, bid the misty isle farewell and travel to Eilean Donan Castle, which sits perched at the junction of the Lochs Duich, Long, and Alsh. Built in the 13th century, the castle was destroyed in 1719 during the Jacobite rebellions, and restored again in the 20th century. Admire the idyllic fortress before heading back to Inverness and driving past the Loch Ness along the way.
