Description

Dive into the historic charm and undeniable cool of NoPa – short for North of Panhandle – on a food tour of this up-and-coming ‘hood’s best eateries and stylish watering holes. Taste your way from Divisadero to Alamo Square for a picture-perfect view of the Painted Ladies, perhaps the city’s most iconic homes.

Meet your guide on the tree-shaded lawns of the narrow park known as the Panhandle and set out on foot into NoPa. Make your way up Divisadero Street, scoping out contemporary art galleries, fashionable boutiques and wine bars as your guide shares the history of the neighbourhood and its transition from gritty to hip. Stop on the rolling lawns of Alamo Square for a postcard-worthy panorama of the city centre and the pastel Victorian homes known as the Painted Ladies.

As you walk, make stops into local markets, bakeries, restaurants and bars. Excite your appetite with a fish taco topped with ancho chile sauce and sweet oranges. Then, sample fresh-baked focaccia topped with California cheese, satisfy your sweet tooth with a scoop of small-batch salted caramel ice cream, and savour a Greek rotisserie sandwich from one of San Francisco's trendiest fast casual restaurants.

Your final stop is perfect for kicking off the rest of your evening. Pick up some more tips and pointers for exploring the city’s famed food scene over a glass of wine before parting ways.
