What you can expect

Spend a half day exploring the Guayaquil Historical Park, checking out the exhibits in the Wildlife, Traditions, and Urban Architectural Zones with an expert guide. Gain insight into life in different areas of Ecuador, learn about the country's past, and get up-close looks at its rich flora and fauna.

After you're picked up from your hotel, ride to the Guayaquil Historical Park. With your guide leading the way, set out to explore the different zones of this sprawling attraction. Step into a tropical habitat in the Wildlife Zone, walking across elevated boardwalks as parrots and macaws fly above you, and spot river otters, sloths, and tapirs in the lush greenery.

In the Urban Architecture Zone, step into the city's colonial past as you tour historic buildings from the early 20th century that have been conserved and reconstructed inside of the park.

Finally, head into the Traditions Zone, where you can see what life was like for the rural inhabitants during the economic boom that cocoa farming brought to Ecuador's coastal regions. Tour botanical gardens, learn about farming practices, and see what the homes of farm workers looked like.

During the day, various performances take place, offering a glimpse of the culture of Ecuador's native people. If you'd like, you can grab a bite of authentic regional cuisine at one of the food stands before you head back to your hotel.
